But if we do make a showing in the 1:18 market, it will be with a splash. (Was that a hint?)

Regards,
Jason

I got a hint from another member:

From this posting:

viewtopic.php?p=61021&highlight=&sid=2a ... d9ca#61021

"SAD = (I have no idea!)
Flies = jet
Gillette = Stealth (He said they had one several years ago. Gillette used a Dodge Stealth as their Le Mans racer several year ago. And there is a famous photo of a F-117 flying over Gillette stadium.

Therefore: Stealth Fighter
I know... probably not"

It's the F-117..... ;)

My guess is the Naval based Furies that Jason mentioned on Aug 30.
That plane would make a big splash. :?

I have got to help out a little.

When I said splash, I followed that up with "was that a hint?" It was not a hint.

I did not intend splash to have anything to do with it. :)

So does that mean we can loose that whole thread from our search as I have again re-read the whole splash associated reply and can see no other veiled or otherwise reference to any plane that I know, or perhaps I just dumb!

Wow, we have a feeding frenzy!

I admit the aircraft has been mentioned. :) You guys have guessed the aircraft. But the rules of the game are if someone can point me to the actual hint in which I give the name of the aircraft. Up to this point, this has not been done.

So if someone wants to compile a list of all the aircraft said in this “interview post” you have our next aircraft on that list. I admit a lot of aircraft have been mentioned, but at least you are looking at it?

I will give you one more hint about my "latent" hint. It was three words!

Look on the bright side you have learned a lot about Admiral Toys. I know you didn’t read my past posts with such concentration and critical observation as you have the past couple of days.

Thanks for being good sports about this. I am sure this guessing game will get old real quick (Maybe it already has for some of you). I am sorry that I cannot just come out and tell you. Everyone at Admiral Toys made a promise to one another that we would show restraint and unveil the aircraft at the toy fair.

A-26 Intruder (Designation and wrong name used for aircraft already mentioned)
Invader (used to describe the above)

wow that's good work. Excellent.

Now, we need someone to go through the lists before and after Jason said that it had not been mentioned and weed out the common names from the list before the 'yes i admit it has been mentioned' comment by Jason, since, if they were also mentioned before Jason made the 'no one has guessed it yet' comment they are obviously not the answer and don't need to be on the post comment list. (confused? good.)

Then, we know we are looking at the answer, in the resulting shortened list.

Since we know the splash comment was not a hint it can be disregarded PLUS any aircraft to do with splashing are now less likely to be the anwer (especially the more obscure ones, like my guess of a Kate) and they can go on a sub-list. So the resulting main list should be somewhat shorter and then we can continue our analysis.

:)

P-63
La-5 (also LaGG-5)
La-7 (also LaGG-7)
LaGG-3 (also La-3)
LaGG-9 (also La-9)
A-20
A-26
Sukhoi's 24
Sukhoi's 25
Sukhoi's 27
1909 Flyer (most original)
Fielser Fi 156 Storch
Piper Cub/Grasshopper

But we will still need Jason to confirm that it is actually within the above.

Maybe it is an A-10, and where Jason said it is not an A-10, is to throw us off.

If it is an A-10,

WOW!

Now I am confused on which aircraft we are coming out with!! I am just kidding.

Spudkopf, that was a great summation. You should write closing timelines for lawyers, fantastic job.

I will clear up one thing that aferguson will not like to hear: When I said no one had guessed it, I meant the hint itself, not the aircraft. Therefore the aircraft could have been mentioned before that particular statement. Then again maybe it wasn’t. However, I promise that the statement, “it has not been guessed yet,” was referring to the hint itself. After all, that is what matters in this twisted game, the hint. The hint is what wins the aircraft.

Therefore I will assist in a summation:
1. The aircraft has been mentioned
2. I will not state a particular time the aircraft was mentioned.
3. The hint is three words.
4. The aircraft is one name(ish). (I would not put too much weight on this hint. It is not that reliable.)
5. Splash really had nothing to do with it. I could always make it work as a clue. As in… If this aircraft went down it would make a splash. So you know it flew over water. But find me an aircraft that didn’t fly over water during WWII, Korean, Vietnam, Gulf and etcetera, wars and conflicts.

I did not know that the statement I made in my interview would start such as search this far out from toy fair. So it may be best to slowly let this thread die and we can resurrect something the week before toy fair. Frustration fuels resentment. I do not want you to get frustrated and start resenting me for not saying the answer. You have over a month before the answer will be revealed.

Regards,

Jason is this better for you, I think you need to get yourself an avatar to make it easier to find your posts.

Anyway here are all the quoted guesses posts before the "No one has guessed it " post that was Posted: Sat 16 Dec, 2006 14:48.

This should eliminate some, or then again maybe not, or does it, errr ............ my brain hurts you work it out!

Best wishes to LaDonna, Jim and the rest of the family and to all of the hard working employees at admiral toys Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!!

My guess its a B-17

viewtopic.php?t=3086&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=60
When and if we produce the B-17 in 1:18 scale it will be a full aircraft.

viewtopic.php?t=3086&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=80
Jason wrote:

"Flayrah, your suggestions for production of the B-17 are impressive. I will suggest this method of production to our design team. We are excited about producing the B-17; however, I do not want you all to get your hopes up and be disappointed if you do not see it in 2006 or early 07. It is a massive model with many constituents of production and shipping to be determined.

Besides it’s on there 1:18 squadron logo

I think I once said "why hasn't anyone made and F-15 yet? It's smaller than an F/A-18, and just as popular" and you agreed with me Jason.

Does that count?

Also, I think we have an answer that Admiral is making an F-5 , and thanks for the insight on the wing tooling!

Jason When I called you about the misprint with the tempo problem on my F-86 a few months back We talked about the F-14

And you wrote this shortly after we talked
VMF115, I can give you a hint of what is coming next year. We will have a couple of aircraft in 1:18

and this

MightyMustang, I would bet that you will see an F-14 in the future, if not by us then from someone else. It would be a huge model but sales would be strong. We are not in production of one at this time, but maybe in the future.
uple of tanks/guns/vehicles in 1:72 scales. The aircraft (which I am assuming you are most interested in) are all new to this market.

viewtopic.php?t=3086&postdays=0&postord ... 5206f1d29b

Also a snazzy landing gear, probably also made out of metal; which would be need by both the B-17 and F-14 due to the weight.

Jason your silence about the F-100 is the answer while many have speculated prior to the announcement of Me-262 on the forum you listed it in a group of aircraft.

F-4, F-14, F-15, F-100, ME 262, ME109, B-17, B-25, B-29, A6M2, A6M5, NOT A-10 (Just trying to assist the Hunger Strike guys to get a good meal in their bellies, We are not releasing an A-10 in the near future, but it has been duly noted)

I am probably wrong about the B-17, F-14 and the F-100 any ways. Oh well

That’s my shot after combing through all the threads, probably missed something.

Vulgarvulture, we are looking into the F-4 just like we are looking into the A-10, F-15, F-22, Harrier, 1:18 B-17 etc. (Yes I said it) but you will have to wait and see. We are looking into everything you have discussed on this board and nothing is dismissed immediately without fully exploring engineering and cost. Anything is a possibility. We just have to find a way to make it affordable for all involved.

its the Harrier or F22

I would put money on the harrier because of the size an F22 would be large.
However the harrier would have metal landing gear along with the wing tip landing gear struts And it would snazzy

The Trojan was designed as a F-86 trainer so cockpit layout is very simular to the Sabre?

That was a great interview, thanks for the info!
A quick comment on what needs to be looked at from what Jason has said in the past:
Quote:
I did give you the name of the next aircraft in a post awhile back. It was stated outside of my list of aircraft. The hint is buried in the post itself.

That tells me, he mentioned it but was NOT part of the list he considered or stated.
Another hint was a posting where he mentioned this:
Quote:
But if we do make a showing in the 1:18 market, it will be with a splash. (Was that a hint?)

This could be a reference to an amphibious aircraft or to a mention posting from Shin Densetsu where he mentions this:
Quote:
...what is the market like for vietnam era craft? It seems like the 1/18 companies put their feet into the water but don't venture towards the deep end to to speak. We got sabres MIG-15's, even an F-104, and of course the brige the gap we could have the thud, crusader and phantom.

Could this mean a Vietnam aircraft?
I think it could refer back to a posting that Jason made back in Jul 12, 06 to Quixote511:
Quote:
Quixote511, our A6M2 type 21 is still a very viable project and may just be seen in “January” of ‘07. We are working on improving the model to offer you the better of two Zeros ever produced. Not saying that it will be any better but come on; we have a 50/50 chance of offering the best A6M2 on the market today and we will try. This is all I will say about this project at this time.

With that being said my vote is for the
Nakajima A6M2-N a Zero with floats!
