Did a casual recon to my closest Wally (Woodbridge, NJ) and found the same RC M-113 that has been there for a year and 31 (thirty one) of the new Panzer IV's with the short barreled gun. At list for $49.99.......unbelievable. That's all that was there...

has anyone found the short barreled version for less yet? I want to get 3 of these puppies in time but since i'm not using them for r/c stuff i'd like it if i could get them cheaper. (mind you i'd like it if i could get them cheaper even if i was using them for r/c stuff...heh).

Has TKO ever said if there will be a non r/c version of this short barreled P IV?

31 Short barrel Panzer IVs! And I thought 15 stacked or so stacked up in sporting goods was bad!

Finally found all of the 'tracks (not including the the Pak track) and Pak 40 at the only WM in Houston that seems to want to stock these. This was a restock because about two weeks ago I went there and only found the Stuka Zu Fuss.

They also had just put out 8 of the Smoke 2 F-104s and 8 of the Flying Undertaker P-51s. I was really hoping that the new planes would be the F-86 since this store has already had both versions of the Mig. They also had about 15 Avengers left, which means that they had sold 4 or 5 since the last time I was there.

They had a few Flying Undertakers at one of my local WM. I don't own a 21st Mustang yet, is Flying Undertaker worth picking up? And what is all this I see about bent props on 21st Mustangs? Is it repairable?

I would highly recommend you get the plane. For $40, you have one of the best tooled planes out there. Sure, it has a bent prop, but that doesn't really detract from the model IMHO. Some guys have removed the blades and glued them back on at the proper angle. I tried to heat mine and it didn't work too well.....

Heh... I went to WM over lunch and they had 8 RC MkIVD's. They looked really good, so I picked up a pair at full price. Kinda hurt, but unless 21st releases a standard Mk IVD, this will have to do. Watch, they go ahead and release one.... Would be my luck, too. And what would you know, I finally saw my very first Bunker Hill Corsair in the plastic with a single example on the shelf. Wow, miracles do happen, I guess. I have yet to see ANY F-86's or Migs in my AOR.....

21c (via TKO) have been curiously silent about the P IVD release. Not a peep as to whether it will come out in the XD range or not. It's a neat little sucker though for sure and maybe means that some of the P IV variants we hope to see, we may see in r/c version only....although i can't imagine why they'd do that if they have the tooling already done for the parts.

Time will tell i guess..

Well all the Mustangs at WM were gone, no big suprise I guess. They still have a ton of Avengers though. And of course a number of the usual Black ME-109s and German Starfighters. I saw two of the new short barrel Panzer IVs but I really have no use for an RC tank.

Did anyone ever find any Sabre's in Long Island?

Also, any F-104 Smoke II's?

Thanks

8) Lol.

To add insult to injury, on the way out of WM#3 I saw some Migs on a top shelf and could have sworn I saw a Russian one, but alas, they were all North Korean.

I'm sure this was mentioned before, but I noticed that the superstructure on both of 21st's Mk IVs are the same. The difference comes on the frontal "cap". The D model has the cut-out while the H has the usual straight line to it. Pretty slick. You don't even notice the fact that the D model's frontal armor is too far forward due to the fact that it is added on.

No Sabre to rattle, Smoke 'em if you got 'em...NOT!

Re: Sabres & Smokes on Long Island...negatory in Suffolk...Centereach just got in some brand new...hold your breath...Bunker Hill Corsairs! It's Spring '06 again...! Middle Island has no new aircraft, though both stores have some of the new D-Day figs & the new R/C panzer...the Setauket store is worthless, their tiny toy dep't has had no XD or 32x in some time...I was joking with the C'reach toy dep't help that we'll probably see the new 1/2 tracks after X-mas, they still have quite a few of the older ones yet to sell...but with reports here of the new stuff getting to East Coast stores I'm wishing on a star we'll see some this month...

Wow! New figures in my local Walmart! It's about time we get something new! Of course, new is a relative term, since they are all BotB2... Makes me wonder if they just came in, or if they have been hiding in the back room until enough Marine figures sold to make room. Oh well, I still picked up the US tanker figure...

OK - I'm walking down the aisle and I see a peg full of XD hanging away from the normal spot - I'd already checked that area and found the same - nothing new except for one japanese marine I keep leaving behind saying ill get him next time -

man I get so pumped - new figures - and then I see ....

Max Rode

sheesh - this is the fourth restock of BOB II -the only ones that moved where the ones I bought - well someone picked up a few - I probably pick up three a week from this store

four restocks of BOB II - two restocks of japanese marines ( I have a platoon) and two or three OMG - i think I have one of each.

Yeah the closest WM to me always has BotB figs. I already have tons but I think I may pick up a few more Germans. You can never have too many Germans! :P

The last WM I checked out yesterday on my mad and fruitless hunt for a P-51 didn't have any planes but they had a whole rack of Sahara figures! I'm going to check the last two WM in a little while. On a Saturday during Christmas shopping season. I should have my head examined!

pretty dry in OC Walmarts

Post by markecho » Sat Dec 09, 2006 12:52 pm

Well just got done with a run of 6 Wallies in the Orange County (CA) area and boy was that disappointing...not even a sign of any of the new vehicles (Pak40 case) or any of the new figures. I hope this is not a sign of how the local Walmarts are going to handle XD distribution. Saw 2 Korea Sabers in different places and lots of tan camo RC Panzers and camo RC m113s...

Hope the hit here soon - I am also anticipating a few more US tankers (without the helmets) and some new Germans.

Hit the last two out of five WM in my area. Lots of German F-104's and Seemann 109's but no Mustangs, Sabres, or Russian Migs.

Lots of 32x as usual. German halftrack truck, Opel Blitz, and a ton of Corsairs. I did see three XD S1 BotB Adrennes German figures. I thought about it but passed on them.
