Schwere Panzerspähwagen (5cm) Puma

Post by ostketten » Sun Nov 26, 2006 7:52 am

I think this would make a pretty cool XD model (or 32X for that matter) for German armor fans, what do you guys think??

I'd prefer something a lot more common. Pumas were rare as hen's teeth during the war. Too exotic for my taste. I'd go for a Hummel or a Nashorn instead. A 222 would be awesome....

I'd LOVE to see a 1:18 Puma. Best looking armored car ever. Plus, 21st could easily make the 234/4 version with their Pak 40.

Here's one in 1/6th I made using a plasticpanzers Puma hull and the 21st 1/6 Pak:

You can get a 1:32 version of the earlier Sd Kfz 8-rad Panzerspahwagen from the old Monogram kit. E.g., Ebay Item number: 170054066307.

I would be happy about ANY german armor. A few weeks ago I've read here that 21st has a 1/18 prototype for a 222. It would be so great if this vehicle would be released. Also 21st said that a King tiger is in the works and would be released early 2007. So if these two vehicles would see production it would be a very happy 2007 for me. This Puma is also a very cool vehicle, but I would prefer a 222 or a King Tiger.

I think the very first wave of XD was cool. 5 US vs. 5 german troopers, 1 US vs. 1 German Tank plus a plane for each side and a jeep. I wish every new wave of XD would be like this. But now it's planes, planes, planes, almost no armor and double as much US figures than german.

Don't listen to Teamski, 21c.....a Puma would be fantastic. And as stated, there is room for 3 other versions from the same basic chasis.
i never met an airplane i didn't like...

Agree on all counts, this would be a great new model.

A 1/18 Iron Horse Pack with the 222 or Puma vs the Greyhound (or ...) would be even better! :D

That would be sweet indeed. The Greyhound is another vehicle that would make a great XD (or 32X) model IMO. As for the Puma being rare, so was the Mobelwagen as Aferg has pointed out before, but that didn't stop 21C from making it, and I'm glad they did.

A 1/18 Puma and/or Greyhound would be awesome. It's the rare stuff that tends to be the coolest. :D

if not the Puma SD Kfz 234 4/1
or
SD Kfz 234/3
Kfz 234/4
KfZ 233
222
or
221
any of em' would be incredible 1:18 vehicles.
Just one means all of them are possible

A 222 should be on the 'must manufacture' list. Right after that, should be a 234. I'd be in DAK heaven! Wheeeeee! lol

Well first off the 1/6th Puma is bloody outstanding & excellent work on that Gary.

Now a Puma at 1/18th is a Must though I`d still say a 222 has to be done first of all.

Though the idea for a Greyhound too is a must, maybe even the British Universal Carriers?
That saw a lot of action on the Western & Eastern fronts. So IF XD or even BBI dare do British or Ruskies too, they are supplying the light armour here.

I agree with Ski & SB on this one, 222 would be much preferred. Also, Let's not forget the AA guns were put on existing Pzr molds so it's not like rare vehicles were built from scratch. I still think the 32x 222 is one of the coolest pieces, and it is about 5-6 years old now.
