How many ppl collect more than one scale???
How many ppl collect more than one scale???
I was just curoius how many compulsive people like me are here. I collect 1:285 (GHQ) - 1:144 (Cando,WTM, etc..) 1:100 (more commonly known as 15mm - Flames of War, Old Glory) 1:72 (FOV, Dragonarmor, etc...) 1:32 - (FOV, 21st Century) 1:18 -(21st Century, BBI, etc...) 1:6 (Dragon, 21st Century, BBI, DID)
My wife tells me to pick a scale and stick with it, but I can't. They are all too cool in their own way. I did put the brakes on 1:48th and 1:50.

I do 1-18 everything because it is just the right size. It is big enough for detail and so that my fat fingers can manipulate things. But, it is small enough to have in quantity. I also buy 1-48 and 1-32 scale planes to hang from my classroom ceiling.

I'm down to a couple of scales:
1/700 for submarines, ships, and related helicopters and A/C
1/72 for everything else
I have too much 1/18 and 1/6, but I'm not actively adding to either of those collections...

I stay with 1:18 scale, but there is some mighty tempting stuff being released in 1:32 scale these days between FoV and 21st Century. But, since I am a 3 3/4" action figure (GI JOE) fan, I figure I need to just say with 1:18 scale lest I get completely out of control.

First I collected only the 1:18 pieces with a smattering of 1:6 and 1:48 as well. Then I gave in and started collecting 1:32. When I went to study in England in 2003, I got hooked on Corgi and then started to collect 1:72. Last year, I moved into 1:144. So, in short, I have in my collection:
1:6 fiugres/accessories
1:18 aircraft/armor/figures
1:32 aircraft/armor/figures
1:48 aircraft
1:72 aircraft/armor/figures
1:144 aircraft/armor
There's just too much cool stuff out there to collect only one scale and whereas 1:18 can often be dry, there are many other cool pieces to be found in the smaller scales!
