POST 21C MIG 15 & F-86 SABRE FINDS AND DISCUSSION HERE
Okay, here's my quick review and pics of the new Mig-15. Let me say that I think this thing is fantastic. It's on par with the F-104.
The intake is pretty deep, but there is no turbine fan in there. The gun tray comes off and the detail on the guns is great, the tips of the guns are even hollowed out. Unfortunately, there isn't any detail in the fuselage. The air brake open and show the exhaust pipe. The cockpit has great detail and the overall paintjob is very good, with crisp, clean markings. It comes with both types of drop tanks, the underslung and the slippers.
My only gripe is that one of my flaps is a bit loose and doesn't like to stay closed and the fingerprint on the glass of the canopy in the small area behind the cockpit.
Overall, I am very impressed and I am looking forward to the F-86

wow
THANKS! That's the kind of review I love to see. Great photos and explanation - your time is appreciated.
I was afraid these would be shelf-warmers as an odd looking bird from a forgotten war but it looks like the details may demand this one be a seller.

I actually think this may be a good seller, and the same with the F-86, for reasons apart from detail. Both obviously looks like jets and have the neat streamlined looks that may appeal to the average buyer; many of whom will not examine an XD plane closely or base their purchase solely on the small details that we all like.
In my personal experience, the F-104s of all types have sold very well in my area while the ME-109Gs of all paintschemes did not. I know that may not hold the same for elsewhere in the country, but if the jets are selling well in a community with a high percentage of low income households while similarly priced and detailed prop-driven planes are not, then there must be some sort of appeal beyond the detail. Still, I love all the detail inclusions and can't wait to recieve my Mig![Very Happy :D](./images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif)

"If you fail to plan, you plan to fail."
I dunno about that TTT. I know that the USAF F-104s issued in smaller numbers compared to the 109s and the few that were on the shelves disappeared. The German 104s were the exception here and several are still on the shelf. On the other hand, the Avenger sold well here....tmanthegreat wrote:I actually think this may be a good seller, and the same with the F-86, for reasons apart from detail. Both are good aircraft and would be a good Addition to any collection
"The rocket is not panted on but is a decal" so be careful when handeling it as it may come off, over all the two tone paint really brings out the Patricia's detail
My number is 79 out of 500.
On last note
As for buying from AT they have the best customer service if you brake it they will take care of it, if there is a factory defect they will take care of it.

You can fix that with a small dab of super glue, just put some on a pin or something small and apply it dip in the wing where the flap tab is, after you have done this move the flap continually for about 2 t o3 min so it will not dry in a position it should move freely. But with some resistance, I have done this on my Avenger Horizontal stabilizers.pokeyjtc wrote:

As for the paint codes any one have any ideas what they are.
Especially in the cockpit and the gun bay areas and the rear of the aircraft

Thank you I did not know that, so I f you’re a saber fan it would be in your best interest to get AT f-86's, to have a nice collection.Sabrefan wrote:The 21st Century version is an F-86F version, this version of the real plane did not have leading edge slats like the F-86E which the Admiral version is fashioned after.

One of those is mine.KAMIKAZE wrote:I have a Mig on ebay Tinman. I don't know who the other one belongs to.
I found two, intended to keep one MIB and the other for display. I didn't realize my storage space is getting so cramped.....so decided to post the MIB for sale. It's a great model, I didn't think I would like it as much as I do. The detail, fit and finish are top quality for the price. I still haven't seen an Avenger, but from what I've read it's hard to believe these two models came from the same manufacturer at approximately the same time. MiG has a full array of landing, nav, and assembly lights cast in clear and tinted plastic; screw holes are filled; and parts fit together almost perfectly. The only problem I've found, is the wings are a bit heavy for the assembly tabs and tend to droop if in 'flight' mode. If left for an extended period, this might put pressure on the gear and gear door assembly. Sitting wheels down is fine, and for a permanent fix gluing the wings into the fuselage should solve the problem. I did think the gun bay would swing down, but unless I'm not doing it right, it is removable but not hinged to the fusleage. Is it correct that there should be no stenciling? Or did 21st just not add it.
