NICE EASY ONE FOR 21ST AS THEY ALREADY MAKE THEM IN 1/32. THE ONLY ONE THAT WILL COMPLETE MY COLLECTION IS A 8T PRIME MOVER TOWING AN 88.

Someone had named the Do-335 Pfiel [Arrow]. I think it is a cool plane and would love to see it done. Size wise, it seems doable. It would be 2.55 feet long by .916 high, with a 2.514 foot wing span. A very interesting and cool plane indeed.

If they all went out of business this summer, my hope for the last thing actually available for sale would be for a Doolittle-marked B-25.

Moving on from that are the pieces needed to realize the importance of naval aviation - Wildcat and Hellcat, even recognizing the lack of visual flair involved in most of them.

From that, historical importance should recognize the Russian involvement in WWII, starting with the lend-lease aircraft like the P-39 and extending into the Russian warbirds.

I couldn't agree more. All of the vehicles are wonderful, but I've really been racking my brain for a way to get a big ~1:18 bridge ever since 21st showed theirs many moons ago. Capturing or destroying bridges was such a big part of ETO, and mostly it would just make a great centerpiece for any XD display.

bridges

If you want bridges and are willing to pay, Pola makes some very nice specimens that work fine with XD. They are a bit underscale but still very cool. A scale bridge would be pretty big and somewhat boring in some people's mind (not mine) so I wouldn't hold out hope for 21C, AT or bbi to make a bridge. Your best bet is a used G scale Viaduct, Suspension, Trestle or Arch bridge.

I have that waterwheel mill to the left in the top picture. That building is near perfectly scaled to XD figures 8)

I haven't bought or had any XD bought for me since the P-47B checkerboard.

If, I were to see a Val or a nice mottled Kate w/folding wings, man, I'd be all over that like Oprah on a ham!!

Or a Nashorn. That would be cool too!!

Personally I'd really like to see a B-25 Mitchell in 1:18. I think it might be the best choice from a financial standpoint for the manufacturers and with all the available choices for repaints etc. it would be really good for collectors too. Make mine a Tokyo raider please!

(As an afterthought, Why do so many people seem to think that the actual country of origin makes much difference to the "kid on the street"? It's only us big kids who really care about the real nationality and accuracy of these things - most kids want something that looks good they can play with - it's a "tank" or a "helicopter" most of the time, they don't care if it's an M1A2 HA Abrams or a T-72, or a AH64D Longbow or a Mil-35 Hind E with the side-mounted 25mm cannon and the FLIR turret in the middle...)

The stuff is dangerous! I can't put my webshots pics into these posts but I have these pics of some custom figs I did in my photobucket album. You can't see the whole building (huge) but you can see the scale is passable:

Hmmm, no order, and not a complete list.

Sturmtiger, with working loading crane.
Mig-29
Su-37 Super Flanker
Me-163 Komet, carriage and tow vehicle optional
Mi-24 D, in sand/stone/sky colors, from the Afghan War. I wouldn't be opposed to the glazed nose A or Hind F with 30mm cannon model either.
Merkava Mk. 3B
I Tan I Epi Tas

Although I would love to see some of the older WWII Bombers in 1:18 scale, probably a better chance of seeing some of my other desires such as a Soviet Hind helicopter or even a CH-47 Chinook. The shi#-hook would be an awesome bird in the diorama department.

Digger

How did you do that to your BBI figures? did you have to brake there waists to get them apart? I tryed to get 1 of them apart but it felt like he was going to brake so I stoped. Please teach me

Post by digger » Tue Aug 01, 2006 1:42 pm

Yes, they come apart very easily. A little hot water if you are nervous but elbow grease is usually enough. Breaking them at the waist is key also for switching the new belts which once they come apart are not going back together.

Those figs are combinations of Dragon and bbi guys. The 1st ID helmets are from 21C.
