WWII 1:18 Checklist

Post by tkjaer21 » Fri Jul 21, 2006 4:25 pm

Here are all of the Companies that deal with the 1:18 WWII Planes and Vehicles. I have put together a checklist of some sort because I am a completist and can never find all that is released. Below is the Company, Plane/Vehichle, and how many different versions are in (). Please feel free to add, discuss, or resolve.
Many thanks.

i believe there are 9 P47's.....6 razorback and 3 bubbletop

only 3 P-40's i think, unless you're counting the all black sci-fi version, which is not really ww2.

at least one more 21c P-51, the limited edition prize for becoming an ace and buying all the 190d's....i don't think it's been released yet....also you could count the one of a kind hand painted version (21 *C) that was a prize at last year's SDCC

technically one of the 21c corsairs and one of the bbi corsairs are not wwii as they represent korean war birds.

There are 2 exclusive RAAF P-51's by BBI, plus the 2 BCT exlusives, plus Killer and Crow, so the total is 6 not 3.

4 21c shermans, S1, COED, Pacific (lighter overall green and different markings), winter.

Solido makes several versions of the jeep as well, one with soft top up, one down and two SAS versions (green and sand).

The motorcyles, Indian and Harley, are by Maisto. Only the Harley is military though.

BBI also makes a Sherman, with 105mm gun...only one paint version to date

Minichamps also makes a Kubelwagen, i think only one version to date but not sure.

I believe 5 109g's so far, including limited edition.

I believe 6 109E's so far (s1, spinach, galland, desert, winter, black)

i think 6 190d's, including the european exclusive black 14

Admiral toys has an me-262 being released very soon as well....we only know of one paint version so far i think.

3 21c kubelwagens? i only know of one, plus a desert prototype that was shown years ago.

4 21c tigers (s1 grey, easter camo, winter) plus the Wittman version which is coming out eventually.

3 Panthers (s1, ambush and winter)

actually 4 Panzer IV's if you count the r/c versions (S1, european exclusive, 2 r/c paint schemes)

Otherwise it looks pretty good... :)
i never met an airplane i didn't like...

6 p-38s including QVC special Louise. I can only come up with 5 190ds. Don't forget the 5 stukas. Otherwise complete (with Ferg's additions).

quick notes

Post by digger » Fri Jul 21, 2006 5:06 pm

There are actually 3 RC Panzer IV schemes, for a total of 5 Panzer IVs.

Minichamps has 2 Kubels.

There are 5 Shermans - the later OD version has printing not found on the S1 and has a more brown OD color. Much nicer imo.

I think there are only 5 190s. Black 1, Red 3, Michaelski (sp?), Black/Blue 12 & Euro. AC is not my thing so I could be wrong on that.

There are actually 2 Grey Tigers - the diecast MW version and the original.
Similarly there are 2 versions of the checkernose Razorback - remember the original did not have the nose art.

EDIT - Looking back at the top post I think you're forgetting the later M3A3 releases which supposedly have a slightly different paint scheme than S1. WM re-releases make things tough to count b/c it's debatable if they are actually 'different' versions.
Also you have no WC-51...don't see the bbi Sherman either. I don't have time at the moment but I will double check your list later on.
And yes, only 1 21C Kubel.

This is why I wish the photo archive plan didn't get canned. Would be cool to know of everything that has been released and see a picture of it. I think everyone here could help complete the task. Unless someone here has everything that was every released.

Based on the comments so far, I have updated the list with some new added stuff. What is the German green and grey camo car called and who makes it? I see it a lot in many Dioramas. Also, has there ever been a bmw motorcycle with sidecar produced? I think that there are only 4 Stukas or is it five: Splinter Camo, Desert Snake, Winter, Desert?

Catman, the there are two Desert Stukas. I think that the only differences are that one has a Large Snake and the other has a diving bird. The overall paint scheme is the same though.

There is the 1:18 Citroen 15CV by Maisto which is a French car used by the Germans!

Image

Although it is a 1952 model it didn't change much in appearence from the WWII era models!
And here is a camo painted model of one!

Updated based on the replies so far. Does any one know of the 3 R/C Panzwer schemes? I have only two listed. Also, what is the name of the Grey & Green Camo German Car you see a lot in many diorama pics?[/url]

Another item I thought of is the Denix 88mm Anti Aircraft Gun. It is approximately 1:18, slightly plus. It works well with my German troops! Weighs a ton (all metal).
Here is a pic from the AAF Tank Museum on their remote control layout for comparison.

And here it is in unpainted format.

Also, keep in mind that some schemes (or at least pretty close) were released both as 21C and as Motorworks (but with Diecast hulls). Tigers and Shermans most notably.

I count those as seperate series or a series variant.

Fwiw, the Tigers are all numbered Red 326.

That Denix German 88 Anti-Aircraft gun is awesome! It is quite expensive though ($190.00). It goes well with the German infantry troops in the diorama.

The Denix 88 is 1/16 scale and thus technically does not qualify for the checklist. If you count it then you should also count all the other 1/16 items available, including the T-34, Pershing etc etc.

I only count 6 ME-109E
S1 White 12
S2 Spinach
S3 Winter Camo
S4 Galland
S5 Night
S6 Tropical Camo
I think you have the Tropical and Afrika listed twice when they are the same aircraft, just that some refer to it as one or the other.

There are only 5 FW-190D also.
S1 Red 3
S2 Black Chevron
S3 Michealski
S4 Black/Blue 12
S5 Black 14 (Euro Release Only)
You have the same thing here where the black or blue 12 you listed twice. It is refer to as both, but is the same aircraft.

I only know of 5 M4 Sherman from 21st C to be released.
S1 Olive Drab
S2 COED
S3 Pacific Green
S4 Battle of the Bulge (diecast on in motorwork box)
S5 faded Olive Drab
The S6 (Brownish Green) listed on 21st C wibsite was never released.

You have the 3 German Hanomag, but the BOB one again listed on 21st C wibsite was never released.

And the last is on the Panzer IV you have the European one listed as Winter, but it isn't. It looks just like the S5 RC one with the numbers 124, but has the shield shirts on the side. I don't know where you got the blue numbers 413. Could be another never released.

Everything else looks okay to me.

digger,
That is like the S2 paint, they just got a little carried away with the green. They Yellow and Green color is the same, so I wouldn't count it as a different version IMO.

I'm not sure what you mean - the S2 has three colors, the S3 has only two. Is that not distinctly different? I agree that they are very similar, but there is a clear distinction imo.

They are similar but not the same. This new one has only the two colors and I think its actually a bit more tan in color.

Sorry, you guys are right. I didn't have the S2 in front of me when I stated that. Plus I don't have that new one from Walmart that has no figure. Is that one even an accurate color scheme?
