my 1st XD's

Post by bird » Wed Jul 12, 2006 11:10 pm

Got my 1st lot of XD figs from smalljoes.com today. I've never seen XD's here in Australian retail stores and i'd previously only collected the BBi figs and I gotta say,"why the hell didn't i get into these sooner?", they're brilliant.
I got the BoB series 1, i'm very pleased, i'll definately be buying more XD products from now on.
Looking at the 21c site my only regret is that I wasn't collecting them when they did the s1 stuff, cool stuff i've missed out on, vehicles, playsets and at least 4 sets of figs i'll prolly only ever see again on eBay.....maybe.
Looks as though i've totally missed out.
But still....better late than never, i'm collecting XD from now on.

Just wanted to share that with you all.

I feel the same way as you! But I try to tell myself, at least now, the XD figures are better articulated than the S1 guys were. Wait'll you buy the BOBII set!! Or even the Japanese soldiers-THESE soldiers are probably XD's BEST articulated with ball joints at the shoulders! Start giving out your Christmas list to relatives NOW! Wonder if smalljoes sells gift certificates?! :D

I have collected them from the beginning, but had to sell a large portion of my items due to finacial reasons. I only aquired 2 planes ever and the Ardennes Tiger {which I got at Wal-Mart for a all time low of $9.00} the last one they had! I still think the 1st series FJ and Normandy 101st and 82nd are the best. I feel for people in other countries who never get to see these product on the shelf. But as holensock said, the new Japanese are great! I still have 2 Nam figs I never parted with and they are both, in my opinion, 2 of the best they ever did...the Navy seal w/ stoner and the 101st trooper. I hope bird you can find the figs you are looking for, they are definetly worth tracking down. 8)

Yes indeed we do. :)

Click gift certificates on the left-panel menu on the main page of the site.

Later on.....
I decided to buy all the XD figs I don't have off smalljoes.com
I did this so "missing out" would'nt happen ever again. lol. I missed out on some great 3/34 figs growing up and I vowed to never again let it pass me by.

Okay thats the figures done. Now if I can find the bucks for the airplanes & vehicles i'm all set.
Then i'll want doubles of everything else, lol, this is such a viscious cycle.

You guys in the USA are so lucky to find them in big chain stores, the few TRU outlets we have here don't carry 21c products or BBi. They have "The Corps", GI Joe knock off's and we don't have Walmart and our Target stores don't carry them either, infact I think there was one hobby store who had BBi 1:18 but now they don't. Oh and the prices at which you seem to find these bargains for, $10 for a half track I read the other day, I couldn't believe it.

Regardless i'm very pleased with these and I hope they're around for a longtime to come so i can build up my collection.

I'm sorry you can't get your fix as easily as we do here. You do have the Aussie F-18 and P-51, though, hehehehe....
