Saw a bunch of the SS sets at Wal Mart, displayed prominently at the end of an aisle :)

Just kidding  :P

...but it would seem fitting in a way, wouldn't it?

I'm with digger on this one baster. Something about shipping illegal toys to France just makes me smile. Who is your president. I would really like to sent him one.

What, no review Teamski? I know I've read someone who's got one over on JoeCustoms who was really impressed with the set.

I am not a figure guy but I just had to get this set because of its rarity.

The set arrived yesterday and I opened it up to take a peek. Each one appears to be a different sculpt. All the weapons and accessories save for the helmets are packaged in a plastic bag located underneath the tray.

My favorite detail was that each little Nazi had glossy black jack boots.

Good value for the money.
One hundred and fifty three - 1:18 scale aircraft on the ceiling looks  damn good!

it has nothing to do with the current president,

it's not about shipping the toys that is illegal, it's more about owning the toys in France

Does the SS set include a mail-in offer for Heinrich Himmler?

Too bad Kenner didn't make a Nazi SS action figure from Raiders of the Lost Ark. Cause that guy kind of looked like Himmler. I wonder if people came up on the street and told him that??

Ok, OK...... I'm also not a big figure guy, but here goes....

The set is pretty slick. You all have seen the box on Small Joes, so you have a good idea what it looks like. The figures are pretty much the who's who of the S-1 and BoB series with some heads from the US/German para sets from years ago. The really nice part is that no two are the same, so the set is not repetitive. The equipement and stands are in a bag behind the figure board. The figure board is covered with a clear plastic cover, which keeps the figures protected. As far as paint quality, they look pretty good. Trust me, I have seen a lot worse! I didn't take any figures out for obvious reasons, but they all looked robust to me.

When I got my box, it looked like it was opened already, with a small tear at the bottom of the box from the tape. I wasn't too concerned about it since I figured that Small Joes had to do some quality checking before sending the set out. Without a window, you can't quarantee anything.

I hope that this helps. Let me know if you have any further questions.

Just got mine in too. Numbered 216 of 5000. Very nice. Even better than I had hoped. The collar, helmet, etc, insigias are great. I have another set coming and am planning to keep one in the box. I noticed that the figures are held by the twisty wire. I wonder if I leave this on the open coat guys will it eventually deform the coat? Opinions please.

I didn't notice that myself. It could if that is the case. I'm away on (USAF) business right now, so I can't verify.

Oh, there is one thing that I noticed that wasn't accurate. All except for 2 figures had the same rank, oberstfurher or something like that. It's the rank with 3 diamonds and 2 bars. I don't think you would have that many officers in one spot, hehehehe. Obviously a production simplification.....

Keep checking the tan Imperial Marines, every once in a while I see a green uni figure show up in their packaging. So far I've only seen the officer, guy with submachinegun and the rifleman w helmet. It's usually 1 or 2 green guys mixed in with a caseload of tan guys, I spotted these at 2 different Wal-Marts near me. I don't know the official story on these, they're not exactly like the Army release but the green uni color is very close.

ACTUALLY I POSTED THIS A MONTH AGO BUT ALL i SEE NOW ARE THIS GREEN/GRAY IMPERIAL MARINE COLOR. i THINK IT IS THE NEWEST WAVE AS I SEE MORE OF THEM THAN THE TAN ONES.

EVERYTHING IS THE SAME - EVEN THE BACK OF THE CARD.

i HAVE BEEN PASSING ON THEM BECAUSE i BOUGHT ABOUT THREE SETS OF THE TAN ONES AND HAVE BEEN SAVING UP FOR THE ss GUYS

I found one of the new XD M151 mutts today. It's the same old vehicle that was at TRU, but because I didn't get one of the TRU ones origionally, I picked this one up. The lack of figures is a big bummer - especially for the price - but I have a couple of BBI ones that will suffice. This vehicle aparently comes with a repaint of the Hannomag (in a paintscheme closely resembling that of the S1 Panzer IV) and a M3A3 Halftrack in exactly the same scheme as the origional green version. Unlike the earlier WM halftrack releases, no figures (and perhaps no accessories) are included with these repaints.

The WM thread and this thread seem redundant to me. So i'm closing the WM thread. Please use this one from now on to post 21c WM finds....of which we'll have quite a few in the upcoming months. :)

The more major releases will get their own sticky's for a while, as usual.

Nearly fainted. Went into a relatively new WM Sunday and there was a Bunker Hill Corsair hidden behind two 109's. First one I've ever seen in a WM.

There were 4 Pattons in my AO. I now have 2 and the other 2 went 'poof!' as well. The accompanying RC M113s are still there. 2 Desert Stukas are still on the shelf, and the Bunker Hill Corsairs disappeared about 3 weeks ago.
