Ultimate Soldier M134 Minigun Kit

Post by Adeleron » Sun Dec 12, 2004 10:56 pm

Does anyone who collects 1/6th adn 1/18 have the Ultimate Soldier M134 Minigun kit? Would it be too oversized to mod it into a minigun for my BBI Little Birds? They really need some mini guns

It seems to be a nice piece, but it does look a little large, considering that its 1:6 scale. You should try it nonetheless, as it may just come out alright!

G'day Adeleron

There is a close to scale mini-gun in one of tne recentlty released G.I.Joe twin figure sets, I have seen these in Australian TRU's so they should be available in the US.

also New Ray include a mini gun in many of their packs. It looks pretty good and is almost perfect 1/18 (a hair big).

I will definitely be ordering a few of the Joe roadblocks... The figures will go to my nephew for the sandbox but the miniguns will be mine

Thank-you guys!

I just ordered six of the roadblocks from smalljoes.com..
2 for each little bird and 2 in case I screw up..
Or If I don't screw up, my pavehawk may end up having some serious firepower.

Best Regards,

Ryan

tderespino - Great Pictures! What material or found item did you use for the ammo belts?

I have a bunch of belts from the Corps.. But they seem a little big.

Thanks again.

1:18 Mini Guns

Post by parrish333 » Tue Dec 14, 2004 3:45 pm

Adeleron:

To answer your original question, the Ultimate Soldier M134 minigun set would be MUCH too large to use on a 1:18 little bird or blackhawk.

I did see someone mount one of these on a 1:18 vehicle (a GI Joe tank), and what it might have worked as is a large-caliber anti-aircraft gun (maybe 20 or 30mm; see http://www.fas.org/man/dod-101/sys/land/m163.htm for an example).

And as mentioned, I agree that GI Joe Roadblock figure does come with an excellent 1:18 scale mini-gun.

aferguson: what New Ray products are you referring to that have a mini-gun? Where would one buy them?

minigun

I took two of those obnoxious, too big-a-scale mk19 from the 1:18 poweteam elite and glued them on either pylon of the little bird. fed the included corps belts through the slots. not bad. the bulbous end is decent and could be basged to look realistic.

fyi: if you are desparate, you could cannibalize the pte littlebird which does include 2 miniguns.

Great Ideas!

Post by Adeleron » Tue Dec 14, 2004 6:49 pm

Great Ideas Guys!

Parish333 - The Vulcan Air Defence Cannon based on the M113 looks very interesting! Actually I'll come right out and say COOL!
I am moving out west in January.. If I have any money after that I may have to combine an XD M113 with the 1/6 Minigun kit :-) I'll have to see if my wife does'nt kill me after my megaorder with PowerTeamUSA comes in

Mwanz - I've got two of the PTE little Birds for my "Bad Guys".. I love the way they look .. I was actually thinking if I did'nt get any good ideas from the board I would buy a couple more PTE little Birds to pillage the mini-guns or at least the ammo belts.. I think the Mk19 idea would actually be pretty cool too.

Thanks Guys - I can feel the need to aquire some additional PTE and XD coming on!
