Two local Walmarts have changed their aisle layout- No more looking for ladders, there is nothing placed more than 5-6 feet off the ground. Coincidentally, at the same one , a lot of longstanding 21st stuff has dissappeared- I realize that some are actually purchased by us, but is any of it ever sent back to 21st or sold to outlets?. Hopefully this also means that new stuff is to be stocked soon.
I knew I should have bought that Sky Captain P-40 in the dust covered almost pristine box just for the hell of it- too late now.

That is why I bought the Sky Captain, for the box artwork. My local WM finally brought down the Motorworks metal Bradleys and APCs, they have been sitting up up top for a year now it seems and the boxes looked like it.

I have never seen any 21C stuff in the closeout isle.

Went to another area WM that I haven't been to in quite a while and they had 4 Black 109's and 4 G-6's, no vehicles, a mess of 1/32.

Weekend shopping in the Dallas area reveals even more "#8" marked 109's still lingering but new stocks of ground-based toys and the new German F-104's unmoved. One store went from a single "Ridge Runner" P-51 to having three but there were none of those at three other stores.

Picked up a Stuka that will get a custom paint job at one store but I had to move several 109 boxes to find it.

Still checking at five different stores here in the Dallas area on a weekly basis, but it appears that other than a few new P-51's, what's being shipped to WM from their distribution centers isn't all that new, and they're trying to get what's sitting there in the channel onto the shelves.

But they're beginning to stack up - literally

This over-stock German aircraft situation here doesn't bode well for getting an Avenger at WM.

Try the Walmart in Denton Flytiger. It's out of the way and I have found a few goodies there in the past.

Went to a local walmart. Found some BF-109's. And a sole German F-104. FINALLY found it and put it on lay away! God I've been looking for that thing for MONTHS~!!!

Also they had a bunch of the marine figures, and the 32x limited macchi's were in abundance!
Shin's wishlist for 1/18 and 1/32 with retractable landing gear and more:

F-14 Tomcat, F-8 Crusader, A-4 Skyhawk, F-105 Thunderchief, A-6 Intruder, F-15C, F-15E Strike Eagle

M-48 showing up.

Post by tkjaer21 » Mon Jun 19, 2006 4:32 pm

I had just foud a M-48 Patton Jeep near Tinker Air Force Base's Wal-Mart. I was stunned and it is heavy. Heavier than the M2 Bradley. I thought it was going to be $22.97 like most of the vehichles. It rang up at $39.99. I had to get it though. Interestingly enough, it had a 2006 copyright on the box with pics of the WC-51, 104 Starfighter (reg. version), a P-51, and lastly, an Avenger (Atlantic version). It looks as it is coming back to the stores. It may be part of the Platoon line. Now all that I need is the Willy's Jeep/M151,MB 3.

I also forgot to mention that the M-48 did not come with a figure nor the smoke stack that you see on the pics. I bought the tank MIB.

There were no other M48s left. I suspect that since the box had a 2006 copyright. then they should be showing up shortly. I will try to post pics if I could find out a way to do so.

P-51 Ridge Runners are finally starting to show up in Houston area WMs. I've seen them at three different stores now. One store has already sold 3 of the 4 they got in one week. Nothing else new to report.

Finally found a red tulip nose 109 at the WM in Temecula CA. First one I've been able to find and will probably be the only one of the 6's that I get. They actually had 1 each of all the G-6's which is the first time I've seen that. Also had the German 104 and a Sky Captain. Had the US halftrack which I haven't seen in a store in a while and a Sdk.

Thanks, billgiff. I coukld not at the moment think of what to call it. It looked like a huge muffler that stood strait up. I think that after speking 5 languages (Danish, Swedish, Norweigen, German, and English), the term got lost in translation. Many thanks for the info. I would have never have though of the word snokel.

A Pittsburgh update... Not much to say.

The stores in my area are all plagued with a plethora of Marines (S1 & S2), Japanese Infantry (S1 & S2), and Market Garden figures as well as a smattering of BotB Jeep Drivers, Tankers, and Sahara figures here and there. Not a whole lot to talk about obviously.

S2 BotB seem to have never shown up in the Pittsburgh area which is sad... :( Gonna have to order online for these I'm guessing, or wait'll WM makes some major room because right now all the aforementioned are FALLING off the pegs at any WM I go to (like anywhere from 8 to 10 in a 50 mile area).

The Humvees sit and sit as well, and you see Weapons Carriers a little less often. Planes are now back with a vengence as well, as they've got tons of the German Starfighter, and a whole bunch of new German WW2 fighters (I don't keep up with the planes much to know paint schemes inside out). There's a lot of them at any given WM though, and most WM's were still sitting on tons of OLD fighters like the nightfighter... Some even have Silver Huey's in bulk left on the shelves.

RC M113's and Panzers are around... I got an M113 for $19 the other day and may get a couple more if they're still around for that price to do SW customs with. Panzers are less common but I'm thinking of actually trading mine in for the camo paintjob one actually. I like it better.

Other than that, not a lot to speak of. Tons of stuff everywhere, but nothing anyone seems to want.

TRU is prety much the same with BBI... Though I want those two planes, I just can't afford them right now. ;) No new figures though, not since the first little trickle of new moderns and WW2.

DON'T WORRY - I HAVE DELEATED MANY A MESSAGE DUE TO NO KNOWLEDGE OF CERTAIN PART NAMES - AND NOT HAVING A TRUSTY REFERENCE BOOK IN MY POCKET WHILE WORKING -
