I 've seen this happen with 1 particluar online store and its beginning to bug me. As I have been stuck twice now.
This site has listings for "hard to find" from a "large retailer in Motor works packaging" "only 2 left" for $100
First was the Spitfire with DDay markings (very nice) so I ordered one.
Two weeks later the DDay Spitfire is on the site as a normal listing at a price of $79
The same thing happened just a week or so ago with the P-40 Flying Tigers schemes, same thing "only 2 left" "hard to find" "large retailer in Motor works packaging" for $100
As I really wanted one I bought it...
And damn if they didn't do it again a few days later had it listed for $79.
So as soon as I get my pre orders of the avengers, I will NOT be seeing them again.
They have also already charged my card for the avengers, so can I cancel my pre order you think?

well
Wow Dave, that sucks. As for the older birds, that very well could have been true - they had 2 left, and they are rare. Then they just got more. Btw, they are both cheaper than that on ebay so keep that in mind. Hell, if I knew you would pay $100 for the FT P-40 you could have had mine.
Nothing really wrong with what they did, but as you said you have the option of not shopping with them - which is a perfectly good way to express your displeasure with their methods.
As for the pre-order, if/when this gets moved to the BST forum I think you should out them. Charging the card ahead of time on fuzzy pre-order dates is a no-no IMO. Imagine if others did this - people would have paid for their avengers 3 years ago
. If you want out you should ask them and if they say no go to your CC company. That's a complete load.
Oh and, easy on the pre-orders - they almost NEVER pay off. The Patricia II F-86 is something I would pre-order (500 units). Almost everything else just wait to see who gets it and for how much and then order. You will not be left out.

Have to agree with Digger. Whenever I post on ebay I also include my regular store price when I have more than 1 in stock.
