After supernumerous tries i finally won an Aurora Fokker D VII on ebay. I got it for just under $50US which is pretty good considering they usually go for well in excess of $70. It's 1/19 scale, a tad small but a decent model.
Now i just need to get the SE-5 they made and my WWI dogfight diorama can be a reallity.

Yep they're nice. I have both, the Se.5 is excellent. I also have the version they did of the Fokker that was battery powered with MG sounds, motorized prop and rolled around on its own plus also have the Aurora/K&B .049 gas powered control line version NIB. The model versions are post-K&B gas plane molds, they still have moveable elevators and retain inner mountings for the engine mounts. You did get a good deal on it though, I've seen them bring in excess of $100. They were apparantly working on a SPAD but when they faded out Tomy picked it up and made it one of the battery op'd versions, it's my favorite. If you've never seen these they are bigger than you would think. Pretty cool!!

Hi,
I didn't know so many people had these on here. I have quiet a few of the RTF jobs myself. i have Cox's miss America, the two racing Corsairs and a testors cosmic wind. Basically any of the air racing ones. I also have an Extra 300s and the Cub somewhere in boxes. They are cool planes.
I wish I could find a cox rivets!

Corey, I have the original Testors-McCoy 049 engine, prop, firewall, and fuel tank for the Rivets but no plane to put it in. Hard to find in any kind of decent condition. I deal on the side in gas planes if anyone is looking for anything in particular..if I don't have it can probably get it. Also $900 is pretty conservative for the B25 (if it's the gas version). New in the box is over $1500 easy! Aurora really made a quality gas plane. Still my favorite is the early Fly'em planes from Testors, great stuff!
BOSS HOGG: Your Fokker you mention with "Japan" on it is from the later Bachmann-Fujimi years. I just picked up a Gee Bee racer from Pyro that's motorized, taxi's, etc. I'm guessing it's scale is around 1:25. The pilot is way underscaled, it's a 1:48 pilot that standing up could stand inside the cowling and still not touch the sides! Cool little plane though.

my fokker came today. It's nice. The undersides of the wings have no detail at all, i guess that was because it was originally a flying model and they are shaped for that.
It comes with totally the wrong style of decals. Proper ones should be easy to make though from black and white decal sheets. Overall it's pretty cool and it's nice to have a WWI warbird for a change. Now to track down an SE-5...

Yeah, the maltese style crosses are more glamorous. The Se.5 is the best in my opinion. Although the original Aurora gas version was molded in blue and yellow, the model version is molded in od green.
