P-51, bombs or drop tanks?

Post by Sabrefan » Tue May 02, 2006 1:30 pm

Do you display your 21st Century or BBI P-51 Mustang with the drop tanks or bombs? I have mostly drop tanks on mine, but my BBI Mustang looks good with the bombs once I put the mount where it should go.

Drop tanks. My bombs are destined for my armory dioramma, when it gets finished.

I display both with the drop tanks. This is partly due to the fact that they have a little more detail than the bombs and because P-51s were used so often as escort fighters. My 1:18 planes that served more as ground attack aircraft (i.e. the P-38, Stuka, & P-47) I display with bombs.

Drop tanks all the way. They need the gas to make it to Berlin!

Bombs, because I adhere to the "victory through superior firepower" plan. Although I might be overcompensating for something... ;)

I have a BBI Mustang, and I love the detail of the drop tanks; the fuel lines, and the caps are very realistic. (I keep drop tanks on my Mustang)
