I broke down and ordered one as well. I’m getting the Bunker Hill version. It's an exclusive so it may sell out before the others do, who knows for sure. I will snag a flight 19 at Wally when they pop up.

Pre-ordered my Atlantic version today - the other two look great as well, but I've got so many planes in my collection at this point that I usually try to go with the paint schemes that are the most distinct - although I sure was tempted to get the Bunker Hill version and hang my Navy Corsair along side in escort! The black Flight 19 looks awesome as well - who knows, by the end of summer I may have all 3 in my collection!

I think the 2-tone grey is downright sexy.... uh, did I just say that??

I preordered the Bunker Hill version. I can't pass on an exclusive like that. Will hunt the others down at WM. This will be a good enough fix for now. :)

But where's my tricolor Pacific theme? That's the one I'm waiting for, and they had a model painted that way at the iHobby Expo in Oct. I hope that comes out eventually, along with a Midway version...

Great that there are several versions.

Disappointed there is no George Herbert Walker Bush version.

There's also a cool British Avenger paintscheme that could be done - it sort of embodies the 2-tone gray of the 21c Atlantic Avenger, with British roundels and D-Day invasion stripes :)

Still, I'd like to see a Bush Avenger in time as well.

Price increase?

Post by Warthog75 » Sun Apr 09, 2006 6:44 am

Hey guys

I was thinking of ordering the BUnker Hill version from BCA yesterday but then my internet went down. I return today and looks like the price has gone up. I coulda sworn the preorder price yesterday was 64.95. Was it or am I just crazy?

Yes, it went up $5. However that is the only one worth pre-ordering I think since it is an exclusive.

Well I just pre ordered the Flight 19 from BCA, that's 4 on order! I'll have to get a 3rd job to pay for them. I hope if comes with the aliens! As I'm a ufo believer.

Wonder if my HOA will approve a second story toy room?

Light at the end of the tunnel.

Post by eddie372 » Mon Apr 10, 2006 12:34 am

Great news on the Avenger, at last! Already ordered the Atlantic version from BCA, and will most likely order the bunker Hill, being the beauty that it is. With the size of these babies, space is becoming a real concern for me.

All my 1/18 stuff is hanging from the ceiling, or on the wall with gear down against the wall. Tricycle gear stuff like the P-38 and F-16 look pretty good that way.

Paint your wall to look like a runway with stripes and weathering, landing marks and stuff. That'll be cool!

Then turn your kitchen counter into a scale flight deck for your navy aircraft. One side can be USS something, and the the other side of the counter be a Japanese carrier, for the Zero.

That's something did the Zero (BBi) have a tail hook? I haven't even looked at mine...closely

Yep... the BBI Zero did have a tail hook, just in front of the tail wheel. It disappears into a slot in the fuselage.

like most of you, I've been waiting for the Avenger since my hair was brown. I ordered the Bunker Hill and figure I can wait an addtional 30 days or so for delivery beyond the Atlantic version. I've moved the Cobra Helicopter to the wall to make space on a shelve for the Avenger next to the BBi Corsair. I'm ready!

repaint

Post by markecho » Mon Apr 17, 2006 11:11 am

Does anyone know if 21st C still plans to do this repaint?
Image
OR
Is the Flight 19 paint scheme that is shown on BCA supposed to be this color? (Cuz on the website the plane looks black)

This may seem trivial to most...but I just wanted my S1 Corsair to match in color scheme to the Avenger that I will get.
Sorry if this question seems naive...but remember I am more an armor dude!

Thanks!

Avenger 117 is one of the Flight 19 aircraft, and all will share the same scheme shown in your photo.

The only plane not represented below is tail # 28, the flight leader.

Its not black in color, but a dark sea blue. The color doesn't quite show in the BCA photograph. Once, I built a nice model of an Avenger (not Flight 19) with a similar coloration that was used late in the Pacific theater. I like the color :D

I just noticed on Bad Cat that they say the Lost Squadron tail # they ship for the pre-order will be the first that hits their warehouse. Hey TKO!!!! Make sure they get #28 first! Or else!

j/k :D

Well, sorta. #28 would be really nice to have. I'd hate to have to track it down a year from now in a Walmart.
