Yep, me too...my BBI Corsair is on its way to a different paint job. Probably a late war Navy bird to utilize the rockets. I'm one that likes to portray actual historic aircraft. I'm also in the process of repainting a couple of my 21C Corsairs which did not have totally accurate paint schemes. I actually bought the BBI and the other two 21C Corsairs just to repaint how I wanted.
The BBI Corsair is a great combination of details. My repaint will depict an Essex Corsair on its take-off run: flaps at 30 degrees, elevator slightly up, and rudder cranked over to offset the engine torque !
However, I won't touch the Kepford re-issue nor the Bunker Hill Corsair-the paint schemes are spot-on! I may add a bit of paint chips to the Bunker Hill bird. Even the Boyington Corsair is authentic (even though it is authentic for an aircraft that was 'made up' and he just sat in for a photo op"--see page four of Ski's profile page). It still is a good representative of the mid-43 red surround markings.
Back to the BBI Corsair, I also agree that the model's paint and markings are top quality--it is indeed a beautiful model as is. As was the BBI Zero-with historically correct markings, I might add. (I apologize for going a bit off-thread )

Now that is a beautiful pic for a Bunker Hill Avenger and it would indeed be a great match for the Bunker Hill Corsair. Lets hope 21st would do that paint scheme for the Avenger down the road!

Great idea
Yes, I agree that this would be a great match for the Bunker Hill Corsair! In early 1945, the Navy had the TBMs still in the tri-color paint scheme at the same time that the Corsairs had the later all-blue; there was overlap. This would be a perfect companion, even down to the yellow cowl ring for the Japanese home island raids from February of '45.

Bunker Hill Avenger
I haven't had a chance to see the Bunker Hill Corsair in person, so I can't really judge it. Now this picture of the Avenger in the Bunker Hill colors are outstanding. I would not hesitate one second to buy this particular version. It's just too cool to pass up.

I would LOVE a Bunker Hill Avenger! Last year on my birthday my family took me to an airshow in Wendover Nevada.
They had a Bunker Hill Avenger War Bird on display when she was not doing her in flight run. I got to talking to the pilot and even had a chance to climb up on her wing, sit in the cockpit, and check out the lower hatch area!
IF 21st doesn't release one I am going to paint my own up!
