Found one store here in Houston that had the 1:9 Abrams and 1:6 Hummer clearanced for $50. Nothing new to report on the 1:18 front.

Auburn NY has Stuarts (lots of them, various paint) for $99. Several Abrams for $79. Not for me.

Picked up a second r/c M113 (a desert tan) for $15 in Henrietta tonight.
I'm now the proud owner of five M113s - three static (two OD and one tan) and now two r/c (one NATO and one desert). I think that's enough....

Would really like to see some new armor.

WM in Fairfield, CA has reduced RC items. Found the big guys reduced to $79 and the 1/18th ones to $30. Only found the personnel carriers though. No RC tanks.

In San Diego area, ran across 1:6 Sahara Jeeps and a 1:6 German motorcycle with tracks (not sure what this is called) pulling a trailer and with two 1:6 figures included (huge box). A few 1:18 trucks and lots and lots of S1 Graf 109Gs.
Plenty of 1:32 tanks and a/c around.

I get the feeling that those WM's that have alot of the Graff 109's on their shelves won't see the new Stukas or other newer releases for awhile until they clearance the 109's, but that, I don't think will happen at least in the WM's in my AO since they have never clearanced any 1/18th planes before. I hope I'm wrong on this though. I would really like to get the tropical Stuka to go with the tropical 109.

Okay, here is a Walmart classic. Went across town to a Walmart that had clearance a few weeks ago. I wanted to see if the RC tanks had went on clearance like others have been finding (they were $40 on clearance before). The clearance section was gone, filled with pool stuff. But up on a top shelf, there was some of the RC tanks. I pull them down, and scan them - $50. WTF? So, I go down the XD aisle and see a WC63 with remnants of clearance stickers still on the plastic (put the price part removed). I scan that - $23. I then find a M113 (non-RC) in a box with no plastic window, the carboard top completed separate from the plastic base, and one of the drivers was decapitated. At the same time, a toy manager was walking by - "Oh, all that stuff is back to its base price, so all I can do is knock off 10%"

So, I guess in Wally World, "clearance" has a whole different meaning than anywhere else.

Siloam Springs has the 1:18 M113's and the Tiger (?) RC stuff on clearance at $28. Still have lots of CIA Hueys at full price. Somebody got the winter stuka that was there last time I went by.

I had to meet up with a guy that is in my local Star Wars collecting clique to pick up a set of the EE astromech exclusives that are out, they're fantastic by the way but pricey (sorta) for repaint droids... I recommend them despite price though, if you're into Star Wars... That aside...

Well one more thing, these things ship in plain white rectangular boxes that look oddly like bricks of cocaine, so there's an element of humor to doing a late night meeting in a dark parking lot to buy these "white bricks"... That's just funny.

Anyway onto XD... I met my buddy at a Wal-Mart that I frequent with my girlfriend, so while there I ran inside, he'd said there was no Star Wars but she needed tos hop anyway and I thought "what the hell I'll look for XD". This store hasn't carried a lot of XD though, mostly just planes and they had RC tanks this holiday season, but that has been mostly it and never any figures. I always bum out about that because it's one I do get to often to say the least.

So I go in and low and behold they've stocked up with probably two or three cases of S1 Marines, but also they've put out what seems like a couple cases of Battle of the Bulge figures (Series 1) and I saw Pattons and Pilots for the first time too which was kind of freaky.

Anyway, I cleaned them out on Open Coat Germans and US Riflemen... Got 4 Germans and 1 US Rifleman. I may be back there soon too, to pick up 2 Closed Coat Germans and the two tankers (I've been converting Tankers to BotB Infantry too when I get extras).

I was shocked, and on top of everything it was Series 1 stuff, so it's like the stuff that's been out there. I now hope to see Series 2 Battle of the Bulge figures and hopefully see Japanese in a bigger quantity than what I've seen.

Needless to say (Digger is gonna know how happy I was just by reading this), I was pretty ecstatic. This is the first I've seen anything but a US Jeep Driver in a store so I obviously am in hog heaven. :) With picking up Japanese not long ago too and some OMG's I really am getting my XD fill for the first time in YEARS, literally. And I can't get enough... I'm just wanting more, and the BBI figures too now. I'm a greedy SOB.

That brought back memories.

Exchanging money for small white boxes or baggies in parking lots.

Back in the day when the tough toy to find was any Boba fett and the Han solo storm trooper cereal promo.
I had called a local toy store that had an Ad in Lees and found the Han Solo for $25.00 bucks - pre ebay days.
The guy was north of Atlanta and I was south of Atlanta.
We agreed to meet halfway right off the express way - neither of us remembered exit ramp numbers so we picked a gas station at an exit near atlanta. needless to say we both pull up by the pay phones, I get out of the car and hand him money into his window. In return I get a small white box inside a ziplock baggied because it was raining.

Long story short - It was a bad part of town off 20 in Atlanta and I get pulled over pulling out of the gas station. Someone either thought we were on their turf or the cop saw the "transaction" I handed over my license, insurance and showed the cop my new Starwars POTF find.

He just looked and cursing me his eyes said Get out of here.

I have had a couple other transactions in WM parking lots and I always think about how bad it looks.

Stuka,
 I have often thought about the "drops" I have made around town with local board members. I have never heard of one going as bad as yours...

Supermarine spitfire - stapme
bought at WM in Riverdale, GA for $29.87

$10.00 off cause the box was busted open and the pilot was missing.
The box was also a bit heavy from the inch of dust along the top -

Maybe it is the long wait but something about a new plane in the box is very exciting:

I was in Florida for a week and hit two walmarts, the first on Rt A1A in Yulee had: 9) 1/9th Abrams, 6) 1/6th Humvee 4) M113 APC's these were in 21st boxes. Then I saw some 1/18th motorworks boxes, 2) Fw- 190's Red 3, 1) Spitfire and 5 or 6) M113's. Oh and 1) 3 1/4 ton dodge (21st box) which is now home here in NY.
The second walmart was on Ameila Island the only thing they had were 3) 1/18th Motorworks Fw-190's. Its been a few years since I've seen anything in a Motorworks box, at least in AO.

I have also noticed many older motorworks boxes - asking full price when these items were once on clearance.
