Here's my list. They are in no particular order, save that my favorite is first.

BBI Corsair
BBI Zero
BBI P-51
21c ME-109G
21c P-38
21c Stuka
21c Spitfire
21c FW-190
21c Corsair
21c ME-109E

Its hard to say which is my all-time favorite as all the planes are great! I really like the BBI Corsair as its level of detail and functionality is supurb. The 21c Avenger will top this list once it comes out, however :D

1. BBI P-51 Mustang (great details and, after all, it is a P-51)
2. 21st P-38
3. 21st Stuka
4. 21st Corsair
5. BBI Corsair
6. 21st FW-190
7. 21st Spitfire
8. 21st ME-109
9. 21st P-47 Bubbletop
10. 21st P-47 Razorback

I haven't seen the BBI Zero yet but, from photos, I would probably rate it around 4th. The Avenger does look like the future champ, though....

Well, I have to tip my head to the detail on bbi's planes and the fact that they challenged themselves financially on the jets:

bbi Corsair
21st Spitfire
bbi P-51
bbi Zero
bbi F-18
bbi F-16
21st ME-109G
21st F-104
21st Corsair
21st Stuka

The Avenger will be trumping bbi when it comes out!! ;)

Here's my list;

1. - 21st Stuka (yellow nose)

2. - 21st ME-109E (1st version)

3. - 21st Spitfire (NKK)

4. - BBI P-51 Mustang (Killer)

5. - 21st Stuka (winter)

6. - 21st ME-109E (Galland)

7. - 21st ME-109E (tie - winter/nightfighter)

8. - BBI A6M2 Zero (Pearl Harbor)

9. - 21st ME-109G (Sahl)

10. - 21st P-47 Razorback (Blond Angel)

I’m a big fan of Luftwaffe WWII aircraft, and the re-paints are important to me in that regard. I put the yellow nose Stuka at the top because first, the aircraft is a childhood favorite of mine (too) and that paint scheme is simply magic when seen in person.

The 109E’s come is a very close second to the Stuka, hence the multiple version listings. I’d list the BBI Corsair as a close tie for # 10 - but the P-47 won out (today).

The P-40 is another long time fave aircraft of mine and should have made the list, but the 21st version is dimensionally way “off” and has no noticeable dihedral (as do so many planes) and makes this one look especially silly. My single P-40, the Brit version, rests in it's box where it looks almost good. I am surprised with BBI and their A6M2 in the dihedral department too as they would seem to be the one to FINALLY get that detail correct, along with some thinner wings across much of the spectrum of 1/18 planes.

The newest camo Stuka re-paint will no doubt change my list around, and if anyone produces a proper FW190A or F-14 Tomcat . . . all bets are surely off!

P-38 Pudgy - Primarily the impressive size and the this repaint move it to the top of the list.
21st 109 G and BBI P-51 (tie) (no particular version) - Detail on both is stunning. Also look very good chasing each other around.
BBI Zero, BBI Corsair, 21st 190, 21st 109E, 21st spitfire and the rest lagging behind.

Well, I am going to go in a bit of a different direction with this one. I am going to take this to mean any plane so I will put down what I like.

In no particular order: FW-190A, P-39, P-38, P-40, Spitfire, Mosquito, Macchi 202, B-25, F3F
and the tops of the top
P-51

Some have been produced and some a are a wait and see. I hope I live long enough to see them all.

I took the question to be about all planes not just ones produced.

P-40 is my all time favorite
FG-1 Corsair (Unsure of the Designation but it was supposedly designed to be a Kamikaze Killer)
P-51B Mustang
P-51D Mustang
P-39 AeroCobra
Wildcat
Hawker Typhoon
Any Russian Fighter.
Hellcat
P-47N
P-61 Black Widow, now there is a big two engined fighter for ya!

I also have to admit I never really had much interest in German aircraft save the ME-262, or the Japanese Fighters aside from the Zero and Tony but its just their "enemy" status that does it for me. I am fascinated by aircraft made for Kamikaze missions, an Occa (sp?) (the Rocket bomb) would be cool.

8. ME-109 Night version

5. ME-109 Desert version
4. P-38 D-Day
3. BBI P51 Cripes-A-Mighty/Hurry Home Honey (tie)
2. RAF P-40; cool paint job - also one of the first planes I bought (on clearance at W-Mart for $20 no less!!!)
1. The "4 for Victory" P-51 that should be arriving any day (week? month?) to my doorstep!

I finally made the leap from buying 1:18 tanks and WWII figures to now include 1:18 WWII Planes.

My First Plane is the Me-109E -S7 Night Fighter.

I honestly don't want to take it out of the box for fear I'll break a wheel or plane.

My list of favorites are as follows:

1. Me-109E -S7 Night Fighter
I just think it is a beautiful plane.
Someone point me in the right direction on where to find the proper decals. I wont pay ebay prices.

2. Snake Stuka

I remember seeing these at TRU but the Price was crazy and I was broke and in college. I will probably get the next Stuka as my second plane.

3. Winter Stuka ( I had one in my hand many months ago but the canopy and guns were bent) Love the camo.

4. All other Stukas tie for fourth.
Loved the plane growing up (all dive bombers) Dauntless and Avenger.
The Avenger will also be my second plane - what ever I see first

5. NKK Spitfire
A very famous plane (dang I may need to get this one next to go with the Night fighter)

6. Zero

7. 21st Corsair

I have yet to see a BBI corsair. but am looking forward to the new one from 21st century

8. Bf-109E "Galland" is this the one with the micky mouse looking art?
Any of the BF series

9. P-38 (Silver with red & blue nose)

10 - 21st P-47 Razorback

honestly I love them all.

I picked up my second plane!! The NKK Spitfire. Found it for $29.99 at WM.

So - at this moment - the Spitfire is 2nd to my nightfighter on the favorite list.

Do all the NKK spitfires have the red blocks painted around each cannon muzzle (if that is the proper term). The pic on the box does not show the red boxes.

Yeah, they do. Its accurate for that type of Spitfire. Glad you like the Spitfire, its one of 21c's better WWII aircraft, IMHO, and one they haven't killed with repaints.

My top 10

Post by eddie372 » Fri Feb 17, 2006 10:22 pm

Enjoyable thread Stuka. My list is as follows:

1-BBi Corsair: From the all-around detail to its beautiful blue color and, ...did I mentioned the gorgeous blonde on the nose??!

2- P-47 'Eagleston': I just love the P-47s
3- Spitfire/ D-Day colors
4- BBi Zeros: Especially the green version. On this aircraft, I love the canopy shape and the cockpit detail.
5- P-51 'Laura Michelle': For sentimental reasons
6- P-51 'Killer Ace': For its incredible detail, although there's something about its shape I don't like, but haven't figure it out yet.
7- F-104 in German colors: Especially the undercarriage
8- Spitfire NKK
9- JU-87 Stuka/ Green colors
10- P-38/ D-Day markings

I do like all of my airplanes however. As for the German ones, the FW-190 is probably my favorite after the Stuka.

As for the Avenger, I can not really say until I have one in my hands.

Heres my top 10:

1-BBI P-51D "Hurry Home Honey" set the standard for detail plus it represents the 357th Fighter Group.
2-Bunker Hill Corsair. Its not on the level detail wise with the BBI Corsair but the repaint is a winner.
3-BBI Corsair. Simply the best detailed Corsair out there. Enough said.

4-21st Century P-47D Thunderbolt Snortin Bull. I love the paint scheme.
5-21ct Century Corsair (Ira Kepford re-paint)
6-BBI Zero (green version)
7-21st Century Checkerboard Corsair
8-21st Century P-40 Flying Tiger Version
9-?
10-?
10-?

The last spots I'm leaving open because my choices could change with the pending release of the Avenger and I'm hoping an F6F Hellcat will be produced soon. But those are my choices so far.

I love em all with the BBi Corsair in 1st place. BBi Mustang in 2nd, 21C Graff 109 in 3rd. I'd like to see a Hellcat and a Me262 to fill out my top five.
