Very cool!

Once it arrives, I'll have to get serious about getting rid of some stuff...

Is that the actual box the plane is going to be packaged in? From the pic it sure looks kinda thin - unless the plane is very skinny. I love the artwork though.

that pic's been cut out and pasted onto the white backround....you can see the box is wider at the front then the middle and back.

Interesting they're going with a windowless box......since it's only to be sold online, there's really no point in having one and it probably saves a bit on packaging costs..

I wonder if they're going to fix the fact that the main gear is opening the wrong way...........naw, just kiddin' AT.

Looks sharp.. ;)

Our box is solid (window-less) to add protection and strength during shipping. Another constituent of our packaging plan is to have the model held tight during shipping by poly-foam inserts. Using poly-foam inserts is actually one of the most expensive forms of packaging. You thought tooling was done once the model is completed, not quite. The poly-foam must be tooled and injected just as if you were making a model. It is custom formed to the F-86.

Best regards,

Jason"

Very nice way to insure the product is in good shape when it arrives to the retailer and then on to the consumer. Admiral has really been doing their homework. :D Thanks for that extra effort Admiral.

Box looks sweet. Collectors in mind, that's what I like.

Exactly - that box would never fly at TRU, WM, Target....

you guys are still untwisting the twist ties?? Get yourself some little nail clippers (the ones that look like small, thick scissors) and snip all the ties. Way easier..

Yeah, but I can NEVER find them when I bring home a new plane/vehicle/figure.

So, I'm then back to untwisting the blankety-blank twist ties...

I think they are an Al Queda plot to stop us from buying 1:18 scale. Remember, if we change our buying habits, the terrorists win!

You're exactly right - lets keep the US economy going strong (or at least do our part) so we can keep dominating those places where terrorists live :)

Who will sell the F-86?

Post by jhogan » Mon Feb 06, 2006 9:10 am

I'm glad to see BadCat and other "on line" retailers are offering the F-86. What is the intel on the F-86 being offered at W-M, TRU, or other "store front" retailers?

I have also heard that said. No big box retail, that was a phone quote from Jason. Of course if Walmart were to dangle a 5000 pre-order in front of Admiral, well thats pretty tempting.
