Overall, the kit was near-identical to the Hobby Boss FW-190A-5 though it has some new retoolings and a few inaccuracies. The blown canopy is incorrect for Dortenmann's FW-190A-8 (which had the standard flat-back design) but was the only part available in the kit. The antennas on the underside and step-ladder are custom parts as they did not come with the kit. The model has been painted entirely with the new Mission Models acrylic Luftwaffe shades and clear coatings. Weathering used a mixture of sludge washes and Tamiya weathering powders. The Mission Models paints are EXCELLENT and if you haven't tried them yet, I highly recommend giving the paints a try!
I've included some pics below, though I must apologize for the less than ideal lighting... Enjoy

I tried some diorama pics to replicate the historical photos of the actual plane. Another time I will need to find some foliage to simulate the trees and make a more accurate diorama...

21st Century Toys XD FW-190D-9 in Hans Dortenmann’s “Black 1” livery with my Hobby Boss model of his earlier FW-190A-8 mount. Dortenmann recorded 18 victories with this FW-190D-9 making him the most successful fighter pilot with that type. He flew the same aircraft (W.Nr. 210003) from September 1944 to April 1945 in both JG-26 and JG-54. Placing these models next to one another really shows off the age and simplicity of the 21st model...
