YT PH 1/18 Hind Build
Re: YT PH 1/18 Hind Build
Had some home time finally to get back to the build.
I don’t trust my camo edge airbrushing.
The wing root on one side requires some cutting and filling but came out great.
One real area that could be improved is the door hinges. Resin is just too fragile. I wish I would have taken the time to fabricate something out of metal. I already had one break.

Added some rivets to the canopy.
The tail rotor had a bad air void I had to cut out and ended up reconstructing with miliput.

Watching this one closely, looking great by the way...I just received my Hind kit last week, worth the wait indeed. So proud to own this one and introduce it to the collection.

My first camo color was probably more accurate but I had to go more green for the aesthetic I wanted.

Dry fitted the parts of a mock up. The paint scheme doesn’t seem to be a hit but I think it looks good all together.

Hey YT the fit looks great and I like the camo. Coming along nicely!
Re: YT PH 1/18 Hind Build
Excellent progress.
I would suggest using blue tac for airbrushing the camo if you want blur decarmation lines. Masking tape usually gives very fine decarmation lines.

Thanks for the tip. I have used silly putty before but it was a hassle for something this big. I try to feather the edges but sometimes get mixed results.

Fascinating.... Such a 180 degree turn from your ultra accurate and lifelike sideshow figures and 1/18 items. GI Joe is for collectible nostalgia I assume?

There is a huge nostalgia factor with the GI Joe collecting, particularly the items from the 1980s. I mean the boxed items YT has shown there and the loose ones as well are worth thousands collectively!
Impressive collection BTW, YT

Much nostalgia for GI Joe. It was a huge part of my childhood and contributed to my joining the Army. I’ve been lucky enough to make make great friends in the hobby as well as getting to know many Hasbro employees who worked on the line. I’ve pivoted towards collecting original art and production materials which is very niche but amazing!

I finished the canopy. Cutting vacuform is not my strong suit, in fact I am terrible at it. I am just dry fitting the canopy.

UPDATE: Apparently Post Image.org is down for good. I uploaded the images to a google folder if you would like to view them. I am not going to spend the time to repost everything since interest is so low.
