Re: Who wants a " Natter " ?
Well I got this book in and it just throws gas on the fire.
According to this book that black on the bottom is red !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And the mottle paint is green not gray on top
The Myra book states time and again that the production pine launch towers were 70 feet tall the new book states 15 meters tall .
That is about 46 inches tall vs about 33 inches tall in 1/18th scale.
I was hoping for some nice line drawings of the Natter like were in the 229 book but was sadly let down. Almost nothing to speak of.
There are better line drawings in the 1/32 scale Natter model instructions.
But they state " no scale ".
So I am going to have to enlarge those drawings to fit the 1/32 scale model then take those enlarged drawings and blow them up to 1/18th scale .
Jeez what a pain for such a supposedly simple project.

Pickel, I'd check known examples for the specs. Smithsonian has one.....uh, just did some more reading...seems the Smithsonian has the only one (the only original) surviving today. You may have to go with that.
You could check with Crazy Krauts friends and see what measurements they're going with.

As far as the paint scheme, like the Horten..... I think we're in the realm of "what if".
I still want one.

Just upscale it from the 1/32 model or 1/48. I dont think anyone on here will mind a few millimeters of indiscretion one why or the other, just want to see it get made! Dont make it more painful than it needs to be.
Re: Who wants a " Natter " ( Viper ) ?
Yes,keep it basic, any reasonable close looking item you produce will be great!

Re: Who wants a " Natter " ( Viper ) ?
I played hooky from the Tiger II project and was able to make up the drawings of the Natter in 1/18th scale.
The drawings form the Sky kit were the best that I have seen ,even from the 3 books that I have gotten for the subject.
These drawings are the Sky model's directions . Enlarged to 1/18th scale.
Here you go !!
The Natter is smaller and shorter than the V-1 but the fusalage is a great deal bigger.
Because of that it looks bigger than I thought it would look.

Very cool Matthew. Looks like this will be another fine 1:18 custom from the Pickelwerks.
Oh and I've got a few 21st Stuka Pilots ready for the Natter.

This would be a nice kit Pickel.
Way to much work in a metal launch tower.
I think this might be the way to go, the pine launch tower but maybe not to scale (height), 33 inches is a bit tall.

The way the aircraft is designed it could just sit on it's tail feathers in the verticle position.
Or I can get a wooden dowel cut to a determind height with the frame work attached like in you pic.
When /if the Natter were to go into production , they were going to place these telephone poles launching towers all through out Germany

I found this picture while looking up info on the Natter....

Re: Who wants a " Natter " Viper Scale Drawing Pics !!
I'd certainly be in for a Natter! Apart from the metal and wooden 'telephone pole' launch towers, other possible ways of displaying the model would be on its transport cart, or just on a simple wooden support (which is actually visible in the background in one of the photos posted higher). If I remember correctly, there were also plans for a road-mobile launcher, but this wasn't constructed before the end of the war.

Know that I have the natter already expanded in hydrospan. I need to cast it and create the final master mold. I understand that means next to nothing with my track record of late.

Re: Who wants a " Natter " Viper Scale Drawing Pics !!
The more I think about it, the Natter by itself would be fine.
I wanted to build a 1:18 V-1 launch ramp.....
....maybe in the living room.
Displayed with a launch tower, it would take up way to much 1:18 space....which I'm running out of.pickelhaube wrote:The way the aircraft is designed it could just sit on it's tail feathers in the verticle position.

I´ll definetly in for a Natter-Kit. With or without a launch tower. In height there is enough space in my 1:18 diorama so I´ll prefer it with wooden 'telephone pole' launch tower.
