I found the new weapons carrier and both humvees today at the Livermore, CA Walmart. I've also seen the new Japanese Marines and Market Garden figures around a couple Bay Area Walmarts this week.

I forgot to mention the new vehicles have a pics of P51 Ridge Runner and Atlantic Scheme TBF on back. Hopefully this means they'll be here soon.

walmart finds

Post by STUKA » Mon Jan 16, 2006 9:11 am

I frequent a couple walmarts on the southside of Atlanta and not much is found.
Just found a winter camo Tiger at walmart in Conyers GA - they had a few jungle camo marines left 1:18 The box was all busted and the price was $30.00 -
The japanese infantry have been gone for about two months - I was able to pick up three of them.
Most of the walmarts in my area just put out a tankload of marine corps 1:18 and I see a ton of US tankers - two walmarts still have four-five shermans and halftracks.

RC Panzer IV still sitting at $49.99 even though I bought one at the same place for $25.00 - the prices went right back up.

the 1:6 weapons are just out here - packing the shelves, and these small boxes of mini tanks - pretty detailed -

I stopped at 2 Walmarts today, the first in Westbury had about 30 S1 USMC figures and 9 1/9th scale Abrams. These suckers are huge and so is the price $200. The second in East Meadow had 2 Me-109 G, a Sahl and a Hackl. I picked up the Hackl, the detail on this plane is fantastic.... light years ahead of the S1 Me-109.
In 1/32X I saw 3 Fw-190's, 2 Sturmgeschutz IV with armor side skirts snd a Sturmpanzer IV.
Other then the USMC figures no other walmart in my AO carry the xd figure line. :?

Had a chance to stop in the WM in Herkimer NY today. Was hoping for the new Truck or Humvees but nothing yet. Lots of the 1/9 R/C tanks all over Upstate NY, mostly marked down a bit to $149. Looks to me like they'll have to mark them down a lot more than that before they move.
Lots of R/C M113s up here, too. Lowest price I've seen is $39.99.

I stopped at WM in Champaign IL. It had 2 RC M113 marked down to $12. Also one drop-kicked RC Panzer for $12. (A few broken parts in the box.) I left them there. No new Dodges yet.

Just got back from lunchbreak (walmart)

Found an RC Panzer IV with broken parts and open box for 49.99
the manager on the floor let me walk with it for $8.00 after I offered to pay $5.00 for it. I also picked up more cement glue. Does anyone know the length of the barrel that I should cut it off to make it a panzer IVD the barrel is already broken in three spots. and the armor skirts are already broken off.
also picked up the Hanomag German Halftrack with eastern camo.
They had just put this out with a bunch of green us halftrqcks -

I think this is hard to find.

I found some New Millennium Toys 1/144th "Classsic Armor" tanks at the walmart in Massapequa this afternoon. I was looking around and saw 3 XD Fw-190's and along side them were these little little tanks  at $1.97 :) I got a Tiger I, Kingtiger, Panther and a PanzerIV. They look cool but I think I'll stick to 1/18th XD. Oh there were Shermans and Pershings as well.

There are a lot of pictures on the web showing MKIV D's. You will need to repaint it and the 75L24 of the D model looks a lot different than the 75L48 of the MKIVH, so expect a lot of modding to make it look right. Check out this picture:

Did a local WM scout today. NJ Wally's in Perth Amboy and Linden. Perth Amboy with usual slim pickens, had only two planes: F-104 and 109G in 1/18 and the 1/6 Hummer clearanced at $100.

Linden had 1/6 Hummer and 1/9 Abrams, by the ton but all full priced. A few 1/18 planes we have seen before and one RC Panzer.

I also found a box full of 1/144 tanls in Linden, at $1.97, very nice little pieces but not my scale.

Scouted two Wal Marts in my area today, looking for the new Hummers & Dodge vehicles. One store had a bunch of repaint BoB figures and Graff ME-109Gs. The other had a few S2 Japanese and the desert M-1025 Command Vehicles, but no new vehicles in 1:18. Still two stores to go. These are showing up elsewhere in California, so I would imagine they should be in my area now, too!

Found 2 of the new Dodge trucks at the Pittsburg, CA WM. They also had both of the new humvees as well as a few of the BOB figures. The WM in Antioch,CA had a lot of the P-47 Eagleston and the ME109-G's, about 6 each! No new Dodge or Humvees though.

Still nothing at my local Walmarts. Not even a restock of old items. There is like 1 marine, 3 U.S. tankers, 2 MB drivers in mackinaw, and about 6 Sahara figures. Planes wise there is 4 Motorworks Supermarine Spitfires. Vehicle wise about 7 Motorworks Tigers, 6 Motorworks Shermans, and 4 Motorworks M113s. With about 10 each of the RC Panzer and M113. My Walmarts suck. :x

You're saying you have a few figures, Spitfires (long gone in most places), Axis Armor, Allied Armor, Modern Armor and RC armor...and your WM sucks? No sympathy here my friend

You should be so lucky as to have the Spitfires, Tigers and Shermans still available. My local WM's never saw the Shermans. I bet you wouldn't feel so bad about WM if they clearanced out their old stock. :) :)

True, I wouldn't feel bad if they clearanced the items, but they haven't and probablly never will. With all these planes and vehicles being at least $40 and having sat there for well over a year, I believe they are what is keeping the local Walmarts from ever getting any of the newer planes or armor. The figures sell and then get restocked, but these items all sit high up on the top of the aisles. And with the stores resetting their toy department, there is a place for the 1:18 scale vehicles, but Nascar 1:24 scale cars sit in the spot.

Probably true, but if you haven't done so already, you might want to notify management to see if they can give some sort of price reductions on the old stock. Worth a shot!

Thanks Teamski - exactly what i was looking for - the problem is - I don;t have the skills to do that much work - the side hatch is different - I was just wanting a shorter cannon due to the one i bought was cracked off about half way - and the end muzzle is snapped off - I have a dremel and cement glue - no skills -

walmarts here south-west atlanta - some restocks of winter armor - I found asking for price reductions when the box is messed up pays off %90 of the time - and the next time your in the manager knows what your looking for without you ever having to ask again.
again thanks teamski - ill take any advise.

Did a little recon at the end of today on my business trip and scored. The Wal-Mart in Hamburg, NY, (Buffalo Area) had both Humvees and the new Weapons Carrier. They also had a bunch of CIA Hueys, One "Slick" Huey, One "Eilleen" P-47, one Winter Halftrack, numerous R/C Panzers and M113s (both paint schemes of each).

Found the S2 Japanese and the OMG paras at the Peru, Illinois Walmart yesterday. Still haven't seen the new 3/4 ton truck in central Illinois.
