Greetings:
I picked up a "Bunnie" but it does not have the pilot. I figure the easiest thing would be to paint an existing P-51 pilot to be African American so I have an appropriate pilot for the aircraft
Those of you that paint figures, have you ever done this? What is a good color to use to get African American skin on a figure?
Any help is appreciated.
Corey

Re: African American Figure Skin Color
You may find this page of some help:

The fifth paragraph down has a "simple" explanation and the various colours used. It isn't an out of the bottle colour though, and the explanation involves the use of highlights and shadows. I think you could start with a Burnt Umber colour, and just lighten or darken it to achieve the wanted skin tone if you wanted to stay with a basic overall colour.
EDIT: Vallejo do a "Model Color 941 Burnt Umber" Acrylic.

Re: African American Figure Skin Color
Corey, you'll want to be sure to use acrylic (water based) paint. An oil based paint will not dry properly and remain sticky on the plastic.
