After playing a copious amount of Red Orchestra 2, I wanted to eqiup my 1:18 soldiers with G41s. So, using a Kar98K and styrene, I whipped this up.
I feel I got a good impression of the rifle. While some detail got lost during painting (I won't make my sculpting so fine next time) I'm pleased with this project.

Very cool, I saw your post while at work today but didn't have time to reply.
Nice custom, which rifle did you use...21st or FOV?
I didn't know anything about the G41, just found this... http://www.diesoldaten.co.uk/g43.html

Re: G41
Thank you for the nice words. The rifle is from 21st. Basically the entire lower body and barrel is from this donor rifle.normandy wrote:Very cool, I saw your post while at work today but didn't have time to reply.

The G41 was an interesting example of German over-engineering. Essentially, they tried to create a semi automatic rifle to compete with the SVT-40, but that still could be used as a bolt action in case the mechanism fouled. It was made primarily out of pride; the SVT was far better, less prone to being fouled, and was plentiful, but the Nazi's didn't want to be beaten in the arms race by the Soviets.
