Trumpeter 1/18 109E
Trumpeter 1/18 109E
Not sure what this is. Appears to be Galland BOB 109E. Bottom left upside down looks like Merit. I thought JSI was releasing this. Looks like some more bogus stuff or something from China. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Trumpeter-1-18- ... 5d43533b58
Also seller offering 1/18 dauntless kit and flak 88 kit all by trumpeter. Did a search for 1/18 trumpeter and shows a ME-262 release also.

The 262 is interesting . Looks like the Admiral mold, landing gear not as nice as the 21st mold.

Re: Trumpeter 1/18 109E
A search I just did lists the SBD and the new F86 as well with the claim they are all from Trumpeter, but I can't find confirmation on the Trumpeter site.
Re: Trumpeter 1/18 109E
These are JSI release. Seller doesnt know who made them? Maybe Jim from merit has more information on the 262 release.

Re: Trumpeter 1/18 109E
If you look at the 262 landing gear doors on Merit's pictures they look the same as the 21st doors, Admirals look different.
Re: Trumpeter 1/18 109E
The 1/18 Me109, Me262A, F86 are all JSI items. They now use same sales reps as Trumpeter in Asia,... that's why all the confusion.
Re: Trumpeter 1/18 109E
thanks for the info Jim. so when will we be seeing the 262 stateside?

That ME-262 looks cool. Neat repaint. 21c did have a bit of repaint potential with their ME-262A, as they demonstrated with their 32x versions, but obviously they folded before it was realized... I would strongly consider that ME-262, simply for paint variety.

Re: Trumpeter 1/18 109E
The paint job does look good. Years ago I did a custom one like this. I did it because I liked the paint job but as I got into researching it I found more work that had to be done.
First of all this paintjob is to a Me-262 A-2 (Fighter Bomber)
Remember that Hitler ordered them to be bombers not fighters. While most of the Luftwaffe ignored that order and began planning them for fighter use they still had to make a Fighter Bomber squadron to officially comply with Hitler.
This project was given to KG-51, that is also where this plane is from. "Red B" as it is called is a Me-262 A-2, the main difference from the Me-262 we all know and love is that it carried two bombs on two pylons underneath, like the option given by 21st Centuries Me-262 Night Fighter (Bombs or Fuel Tanks) The second difference is two of its 30mm guns were removed from the nose and the holes covered.
So my question is will this new Me-262 come with the historically accurate changes to make it correct? or will it be simply the fighter version with a cool but incorrect paintjob?
This is what mine looked like way back in the day.

Re: Trumpeter 1/18 109E
Hello. I guess we better come out and make things clear.
The 1/18 Me1109, Me262A and F-86 are all JSI products.
JSI, Merit and Trumpeter all use the same marketing sales group in Asia,... so some hobby shops owners are confused and list them all as Trumpeter because JSI and merit are new to the marketing channel. Hope this will help clear the matter.

Re: Trumpeter 1/18 109E
If that is the only connection between Merit and Trumpeter why is the static 1/16 T-34 and 1/16 Tiger I you guys released exact copies of the Trumpeter RC line without the RC componets?Jim@Merit wrote:Hello. I guess we better come out and make things clear.
