I've seen elsewhere that this 21st Century Chinese MiG-15 #4117 flew combat missions in the Korean War.
Does anyone have any more history on it?

Re: Chinese MiG-15 #4117 Korean War
Didn't know that specific plane flew in Korea, though I guess that could be a given. All I know about it is that its Chinese and part of the People's Liberation Army Air Force (PLAAF). Certainly one of the most striking (if not garrish) paint scheme's to grace a 21c aircraft, along with the Canadian "Tiger Meet" F-104 and JV-44 (Candy Cane) FW-190D9.
Personally, I think that the 21c MIG with the most interesting story is the "North Korean" aircraft, which was flown by the Russian pilot Yevgeny Pepelyaev, the top Russian ace in Korea.

"4117" is a popular paint scheme of the Mig-15bis used by the Chinese PLAAF in a field-applied camo scheme used by night fighters. There is no real history of a 4117 serving, but it's rumored that it probably participated towards the end of the Korean Conflict. Several Mig-15bis fighters are painted in the same scheme at air parks throughout Europe and Asia....probably why 21C selected that paint for one of their models.

GUYS:
I posted the question because I saw a website with photos of a Czech MiG-15 on display in the Chinese #4117 paint scheme saying the real #4117 probably saw combat in Korea. Also, the #4117 artwork is posted on one of the websites showing varying paint schemes of military aircraft, but it was stated little is known about #4117.

You would think there would be more information on the aircraft given the different scales offered in the same paint scheme. It peeked my curiosity when I first saw the model, however like you I found no information on the actual plane. I saw the repaint on a couple of websites (here is one).

Yep, that's one of the websites I posted about. There's definitely a Korean War mythology connected with #4117....but whether it's true or not is to be determined.
