Yes it was.

I almost have the running gear done so hopefully I will be able to post some pics on Wednesday.

The Tiger steel wheels are actually a smaller diameter than the Panthers.

I was kind of hoping to do hub caps to fit on the Panther wheels but does not look like it is going to work .

In order to get the Tiger wheels to work I had to shave about 2 mm off of the center/ inner wheels and add about the same on the outer wheels .

I had to do this because the Tiger wheels were binding / rubbing on the Panther's track teeth. I also had to shave the axle spacers to get the wheels to line up.

LOTS OF WORK.

I need to take a closer look at the hub cap idea or I will have make the whole set of wheels.

All 32 of them.

Hey Guys,

I am not sure what interest you guys have in me going into production with the Panther F.

So I will try to switch this post into a poll and see if there is true interest.

I am thinking of a production turret of $65 .

If I make moulds for the wheels I am thinking $32 a set. ( there are 32 wheels in a set.

So let us see the interest and if not I will keep this project as a " one of "

BTW .

My consigner wants the Panther II . That is the version with the same cannon as the Tiger II.

I cam make both barrels if there is interest.

Here is the Panther II compared to the Panther F .

The major differences are in the cannon barrel and the rear exhaust stacks.

Also it looks like the skirt rails have been omitted.

I applied the poll .

Please vote if you are interested in purchasing the mod.

As usual if I get 1o guys to commit I will make the moulds , if not .

I will not.

Pickel I went with the second choice, Turret and wheels.
I'd like to do a Panther F version.....

...and I'd need a second F turret to do a custom Panzer IV with the Schmalturm turret on it. :)

If your going to make the King Tiger you should make both guns, 88 and 75.

I"m in for the turret. I'm waiting on the 88mm gun for it as well (the gun in the panther II picture). If you have side skirts and exhaust vent covers, I'll take those too.

Hey Guys,

I just got an idea. As my mother would say treat it kindly it is in a strange place. :D

The Panther middle wheel is a SINGLE wheel .

I could make the STEEL wheels the same , SINGLE.

That way I can cut out 8 wheels for the kit.

THAT SHOULD DROP THE PRICE DOWN TO 24 WHEELS , @ $24 A SET. :D

Be advised if I do this THESE WHEEL CASTS WILL NOT BE ABLE TO BE USED ON A TIGER !!!

THE PANTHER F AND II ONLY.

Also in the set I will supply the axles so that the wheels will be able to turn and the axles will make the wheels easier to mount.

5 guys is not a lot of interest ( my vote is the 6th ) , so unless more guys want it this could be regulated as....

Maybe if I could post some pics that could gardener some more interest.

Hopefully later on tonight I will get a chance.

Pickel, If you don't get anymore interest does that stop the project? Or just the steel wheel part of it.
I guess what I'm asking is, will you still make the turret?

Well it sure does not look like it.

With 4 guys interested the result will be that I will have a loss $65 for about 2-3 days worth of work.

That ain't good math. :?

Pickelhaubel,

Please put me in the list for the wheel set...in any of your two proposals. Even if I already started my own Panther two turret building..will also be interested in yours if you deside to make it into limited production. Now you have five interested in the project, hope this Panther II transkit from you becomes a reality.

For anyone who thinks this may not be a completed project, or a paper panzer, Panther F tanks were on the assembly lines when Russia seized the factories. All Panthers going forward from that point were to be Panther F types. G types were still being made at the end while factories transitioned and parts became available.

Thanks !!

Yep the gun will levitate , hatches will open and the wheels should turn.

I made it so the barrel will swap out for the F version .

I still need to put on all of the bells and whistles.

I also still need to do the top mantlet shroud as well.

As far as the differences between the F and II turrets goes I think that it is only the barrel switch out.

You can see this in the pics.

I sure am lobbying this mod .

I thought that there would be a lot more interest.

Great news Normandy.

OK guys I talked to my guy who consigned me for the Panther and he said that he may also want a Panther F as well.

So that seals it .

I WILL MAKE COPIES AND GO INTO PRODUCTION WITH THIS PROJECT !!

Hopefully that will be good news to you guys.

Here are a few more WIP pics.

Here is what I did for the wheel attachment.

This speeds alignment and enables the wheels to turn. The way the Panther wheels inter weave with one another , it was a lot easier to cut the ideler axel in half.

That way I got it out of the way which made wheel installation 100% easier.

I will supply a brass tube so you guys can splice that axle back together

Incredibly happy to see this is going into production! The turret looks great. I hope someone is looking into doing the IR equipment.

Now if i could get a Kugelblitz and Coelion i would be ecstatic.

Glad your going ahead with this Pickel!!!
The detail on the turret is looking good.
How difficult is it getting the road wheels off their axle?

Paul, here is one I did..... maybe if there is enough interest
Pickel could make them.

You did a very good job on the flak Panther :D

I was/am going to do a Panther line in the future with that flak as well as a few major Panther versions.

This project was ready to go so I it.

Also the place were I get my resin now is OUT OF RESIN.

So I needed something to do along with all the other stuff I have going on now.

I seems that there is a demand for customs and I am always behind in orders.

If only I could get somebody to work for free to help me get caught up.

Anyway I have some " real job stuff " I need to do today so I am not sure what will get done on the Panther.

I do hope to wrap the Panther up this week and hopefully by the end of this week I will be able to take orders.

I will also put this project up on e-bay to see if there is more interest.
