1/18 WW2 Series 3 Marines?

Post by kevrut » Sat Nov 12, 2005 10:38 pm

While checking out E-Bay I noticed that Foxhole Toys has up for auction a 1/18 Marine in a light green camo uniform. It's listed as XD Series 3. Does anyone know about this? It would be nice.

Let me know what you think.

Interesting... They look pretty good, more like a cross between the S1 green uniform and the S2 cammo, though the cammo isn't as pronounced. I wonder if these will be small retailer exclusives, much like the S2 marines were only seen at Wal Mart. Either way, hasn't 21c just about killed the Marines with repaints?

Something tells me they are WM. Most of what Foxhole has is from TRU or WM. I think they look cool and so long as they are possibly representative of actual Marines, then NO, they haven't killed the USMC yet. You fly-boys are allowed 5 repaints but when cool figures come out we're only allowed 2? Hell no!

I don't think so - didn't Foxhole used to be Bravo? I'm not sure. :?
Anyway, we just need someone with S2 & S3 to tell us the difference :D

Definatley a new version. I haven't seen them in person, but from the photo they are a lot lighter and better looking IMO than the other camo issue

I do not have the USMC figures yet - I was wondering if their Helmets with a little woodland pattern would pass for Vietnam??

TD,
The USMC helmets might pass - they have the appearance of cloth over the metal so it would be easier than converting just the steel helmets from the other WWII guys. Send me your address out there on the island and I will send you a couple for a test run
I love the actual VN helmets from 21st w/ the gun oil and whatnot on the helmet. 8) These while not as cool will service imo.

Thanks Dig,, I will PM ya...I have lots of figures and WWII helmets for customizing but the Cloth cover is hard to do, I need more VN helmets for my platoon and I am tired of waiting for 21st.

Tderespino,

Hobbytown USA carries a spray paint that looks like cloth. It is intended for the seats of model cars. A person would need to buy the flat black for the texture, then repaint it camo.

I just picked up 4 of these marines at WalMart the other day. The camo color is more of a yellow/green type color, with a bit of tan. I am going to look for the other 3.
