 even though you are breaking my little French hart i must admit that you are right commercially the F 104 is a good choice for European market (in the 60's the Mirage III competed against the F 104 for the GERMAN market but lost on politicals grounds due to our removal from NATO ! ) whatever , bring us more jets ! i love them ALL - the A 10 too

I'm game for some non US Jets. How about some more modern Russian Jets. The Mig 29 comes to mind but I will not be picky. Heck after you make the A-10 and see how well it sells then that will break ground for some other large modern jets. SU 37 anyone, perhaps even some RAF jets like the SEPECAT Jaguar and the Tornado-numerous repaint for the Tornado make it a fine choice.

I'd be interested in seeing a 1:18 scale F-117 actually. After getting an unusual up close look at it (and almost getting
hit in the head by it's wing as it was taxied past :-P ) I think that would be quite a neat sleek airplane for the scale. Of course, how much detail that would be available for the companies to use in order to make the F-117 might be difficult!

specat jaguar !

Post by supersonicfifi » Tue Oct 18, 2005 1:03 am

i think the jaguar could be a nice model but not well known ! the size seems more compatible than a TORNADO ! both are cool though let's hope that admirals toy will hear us

My choice will be a pink desert storm jaguar with missiles "ON" the wings !!!!

Why don't we offer them the opportunity to participate in a Q&A thread like BBi does? This is one of(if not *the*)biggest 1:18 realistic military boards on the net, isn't it? Biggest one I could find, anyway.

It'd benefit them as well, having access to hundreds of major fans of the scale who are active in the community.

Never heard the F-117 described as 'sleek' before P.. :P

It would be a great choice though. It's interesting how little it is mentioned on this board, being it is one of the most revolutionary aircraft to ever come out..

Yes the F-117 is revolutionary but it isn't real sexy. Although seeing one in person is pretty cool. They are a little bigger than I thought.

Oh Ski, say it ain't so. You think there is such a thing as an ugly airplane? I will go with it being interesting and revolutionary, but I cannot go to either extreme and call it ugly or sleek.

it's a very interesting aircraft. Don't gotta be beautiful to be interesting. The Stuka is ugly, it's interesting. In fact i could list a hundred aircraft that aren't sleek and beautiful but are still very cool.

Just it's revolutionary nature makes it a must have.

Although, I saw an F-117 with a HUGE American Flag painted on the underside. VERY cool looking.

Well, there is the famous Holoman Scheme... and how about the gray scheme that a few F-117s have? And yes, the American Flag on the underside. Not many repaints, but I'd just really want one anyway :-P

yes that's right, they're both coming. I had expected them to be released by now but it looks as though they've been delayed (surprise, surprise).

Should be cool.......both are apparently being released around the same time, to compliment one another..

F-86 Sabre

Post by tko24 » Tue Nov 01, 2005 7:49 pm

I sent Admiral Toys an e-mail asking about pre-orders on the F-86 today. They answered me within an hour saying that the release was pushed back to around the first of the year, and wouldn't take orders till then.I also asked about various paint schemes. They replied that there will be different schemes, and also a gray primered version will be available to those that want to try their own custom scheme.I'm very excited about the release.

Ah, welcome to the world of 1:18 scale Admiral.... 8) They made mistake #1 when they tried to give a release date for their product
A roll your own version should be cool though, although 1:18 scale decals may not be too easy to find. :? I have no idea who is going to sell their stuff as I have not seen any mention on any retail sites. Anyone?

As an aside they do say "We currently have three 1/18 scale and four 1/72 vehicles being developed." on their site which means we have at least two more planes in the pipes... 8)

The best way to find out where they're going to sell their stuff is to email them and ask them.

When they say 'vehicle' i guess they mean aircraft...to me vehicles are tanks etc but by strict definition an airplane is a vehicle.

Regardless, this all sounds very promising. I hope they can make it in this big bad toy world we live in..
i never met an airplane i didn't like...
