Are the XD figures getting cheaper?

Post by lsc1002 » Wed Nov 09, 2005 9:41 pm

Does the new series USMC figures from Ultimate Soldier seem to be of cheaper quality or is just me? What is different about them form the other XD figures?

The USMC guys are a little "softer" plastic but it is helpful when wrestling with them that they don't break like the S1 or a cranky para. On the other hand they had what I guess you would call a 'cheap' feel to them. I think this was improved with the Japanese which have yet to break on me and use what seems like a "sturdier" plastic.

I thought they were of better quality than some previous figures. The soft shirt blouses on the newest marine figures are of great advantage for posing them. Cheap XD figures are many of the modern ones like the special forces figures and the M113 & bradley tankers.

I guess I am in the minority because I really liked the SF guy who came with the Cobra----I would rather they have given a pilot figure with the bird but I still like him as crew on my Little Bird

I don't think the figures are getting cheaper but as was mentioned, some of them do look "toyish" especially those that came with the M113 vehicles. Those, in my opinion are by far the worst
figures ever put out by 21st.

I agree. I didn't buy the M113 because of how crappy the figures looked. Then I saw one on clearance and it was missing the figures - still didn't buy it cause who knows what else was missing.

Merrill's Marauders figures are kind of on the cheap side in terms of QC but with all the gear on them , they look pretty nice. I had to dremel out some of the holes to fit the pegs from the gear onto the figure, and there are some minor paint issues on a few figs but nothing horrible.
