Latest Toy

Post by Threetoughtrucks » Fri May 04, 2012 9:31 am

Along time ago in a land far away, I bought a flat plastic kit for a turret that turns a 1/6 Armor Hobbies SdKfz 250 into a SdKfz 250/9. The turret mounts a 20mm gun and a MG 34 mg.

This kit sat on my to do bench (as is usual for my projects, especially those involving sassembly and painting) for awhile until I sugessted to Pickel (as part of another deal) that he could assemble the kit.

He did and the result is just a super 250/9. OK, so the paint is off and will be corrected but it looks super.

What you can't see is Pickels assembly of the gun itself.

Pickel thought the seats that came with the kit were not 100% correct so he made new ones.
Also I didn't like the 20mm gun that came with the kit and substituted a 20mm made by another 1/6 modeler, Toysurgeon. Pickel modified the mount to accept the new gun.

It must be great to be talented..

That looks fantastic, even in the gray color. There was a near-identical kit offered for sale at Toychestandcollectables.com a week or so ago. I almost bit the bullet, but decided to hold off... Still, it looks great :D

Cory at Toychestcollectibles sold me my turret. That was awhile back. Cory recently had a new shipment of these turrets and they sold out very quickly.

I bought one of the new turrets and gave it to a buddy, I owed big time, over a vehicle I sold him that arrived at his house smashed. Damn shippers. 8) Sometimes you just can't win.
