BBI 1/18 Hartman 109

Post by 456THBG » Fri Apr 27, 2012 11:02 am

Really neat find today...I just realized that the Hartman 109 depicted in premier aviation artist Robert Taylor's "Hartman Tribute", (which is hanging above my 1/18 - 109 collection), is the same scheme BBI used for their Hartman 109

That's very cool! I've met Robert Taylor a few times (there used to be an aviation art gallery in my town who would host him on occasion) and he's really a neat guy. I'll have to see if I have a copy of that painting in one of his books.

I'm a huge fan of Robert Taylor's...Never met him, but I probably helped put his son, Richard, through art school! I've got a dozen of his prints, mostly collected in the 80's and 90's, that I really cherish...Each is signed by the pilots and crew of the particular aviation event depicted in that print.
Here's the "Hartman Tribute" along with a P-51 print "Home at Dusk"
