Motorworks 1:18 scale question

Post by spect_spidey » Fri Oct 28, 2005 6:10 pm

My local Walmart has like 8 of the Motorworks die-cast 1:18 Tigers and 6 of the Motorworks die-cast 1:18 Shermans. They also had like 5 of the Motorworks Spitfires. The pilot looks just like the 21st Century one in my opinion. They were way up on the top shelf. I had an associate get me a Tiger down and when he did it was covered in dust. I checked the price and it was $39.87. The black uniformed German Tank Commander looked awesome even though he had the original 21st Century figure type of articulation. Are these worth getting? Are they made by 21st Century under a subsidiary? Anyone own any of these?

The items in Motorworks boxes are 21st manufactured items. The Motorworks boxes are Wal Mart's own brand and 21st agreed to package their items in Wal Mart's brand of boxes since the store started carrying 21st Century products after Toys R Us dropped the line.

You may have also noticed that now 21c has seemingly dropped the Motorworks requirement, as all of the recent 2005 Wal Mart aircraft & vehicle releases have been in the standard 21c boxes.

Yes - the Tiger is worth it and so is the Spit if you do not have it yet. The Tiger is part Diecast which makes it slightly different than the S1 but in most respects it's the same - but heavier. 8) Don't let those old MW boxes fool you, those are 21st's goods inside.

Definitely worth getting-too bad they are not discounted. The Spitfire is one of 21st's nicer efforts.
