For me, the delay is a good thing. I'm blessed with some good work-work right now, so getting the kit now would just make me frustrated that I couldn't work on it.

Glad you had a good holiday!

Busy busy busy.

I used about 3 gals of resin alone on the main center section.

I poured 2 1/2 gallons yesterday in one day !!

That is a record for me :D

The next thing I pour will be the wings. Those will be a lot of work so I want to get it done.

Hopefully this week I could get them done.

Next week if work does not interrupt me I could finish with the pouring.

We shall see.

Great pics from your factory. The way things are going, I may have to put off building mine until the summer; something to really look forward to!

Great progress Matt. I've been trying to think of something to say about your work, but other people have done so anyway. I'll just go with an awkward stare  .

Looking great! I sometimes forget about the existence of this project even though I'm financially involved, but always know it will eventually see the light of day. Can't wait for my prebuilt version... Thanks for going through all the efforts to make the HO-229 a reality :D

This weekend I think that I may start my on forum directions..

I think that the directions should go on the Custom forum.

Input welcomed.

I love the production pictures, very neat. Do you mind if I post a link to this thread on a couple of the model boards I frequent? Maybe I can drum up a couple of orders for you.

Technically, this is neither a "custom" nor a "mod" in the sense that what we have is a kit, and you'll be telling us how you, the designer and creator of the kit, think it should be built. Now, if someone were to customize or modify their kit in some way, then I suppose it would be technically a custom or a mod.

Then there's the point that's been discussed here before that, in these post-Golden-Age days, there isn't so much traffic on the main forum that things that don't relate to just products from the Majors are out of place.

Finally, this is the absolutely, positively coolest and most impressive project we've seen in our hobby in a looong time -- maybe ever. So, I'd vote to put directions here in this forum simply on the "cool and impressive" factor.

Pickel, I'd post the directions right here. As stated.....This is the biggest news in 1:18 !!
Others have said we are going to make _______ and it'll be due out _______ and nothing.
Your almost finished and in record time, this is 1:18 history!

How about a section in the 'Direct from the Source' forum for pickel's work?

Matthew, I didn't want to post in your "Building Instruction" thread so I'll do it here.
Dang! that is just some of the best work I've ever seen! The details in the landing gear are fantastic and the cockpit seat and frame......man I'm impressed!
For me, this will be the coolest 1:18 piece ever! and I'm a tank guy.
I certainly hope someone from the toy/model industry contacts you about this project, if not I don't see much in the future of 1:18..........except for your customs.
Keep up the Great work, your the only 1:18 company producing what we want.
Normandy.

Hey Matt. I just remembered. I have moved into a new house, so the address that's on my paypal account will no longer apply. I'll message you my new address.

Would probably be better to get the kits out first so the guys can start their own build. I can wait for my full build Pickel. My two cents ;-)

Hello Gery,

Welcome aboard. I have seen your posted 229. You did a good job on it.

Hopefully mine will be a little easier to build.

The pouring continues.

I am not sure why this is taking so long. Could be the linkages for the landing gear and doors.

Hopefully with fingers crossed I will have all of the parts poured this weekend.

I am going to get a modeling buddy of mine to help me kit the parts.

Then all is left is the vacuumed canopies.

I will ship the kits first then the full builds will be next.

I may have low balled the shipping so I will be asking for the difference when shipping starts.

You guys who do not want your landing gear or wing caps please let me know again.

THIS WILL HELP TO EXPIDITE THE POURING AND KIT RELEASE.

Thanks.

Matt,

I have a full build on order and I do want the landing gear but not the wing caps. I want the wings on and will always keep them that way.

Thanks,

Tom/Star56
