well, based on their other releases i can't imagine it will be very close to scale, given that it's a huge helicopter...way bigger than a blackhawk, which they made about 2/3 of 1/18 scale.

Still there's not a lot of structure to it so you could put it in a reasonable sized box and have it assemble to a large size.

Interesting news....at least PTE is alive. I'm still hopeful of a T72 from them.

WOW that`s going to be a BIG helo if to scale.

Must admit though l`d have loved to see them do the Stallion helo or chinook (wokka wokka to us brits).

Still should be great :D

Very interesting prototype. I think this could be pretty cool. Even not to scale, have it handing from the ceiling carrying their howitzer - good stuff.

It's always good to see more obscure stuff made - fun for us and good sign for the hobby

However, the decision to make that vehicle I am sure was highly influenced by our Joe collecting compadres. :P

To PTE's credit, they made the Gun and the Gear to lift, they can make the support stuff. COOL! 8)

If it's done to scale it will be close to 4 feet long from the information I've gathered on it's real life dimensions. That's alot of helicopter!!! Hope it is very close and looks good. Not short and stuby like the Blackhawk. Still it will be very cool. :D

Aferg....a T-72 might not be that far fetched to do if they will do vehicles that appeared in GI Joe Comics. I can see us Joe fans requesting one for the Oktober Gaurd. They need something to ride on....

The Skycrane could be cool. I hope it is more to the scale of 1/18th, but I don't think PTE would do it. Maybe they will surprise us.

I second the wanting a Chinook. I have always like the look of the twin rotors. Would be one cool looking helio in 1/18th. I also want other helicopters from other countries. Bring on the Hind.

the four feet in length would include the rotor. The fuselage is 60 odd feet long so it would be a few inches over 3 feet. (the smaller we make it sound the more likely we will see it in 1/18 scale....that's my philosophy ;) )

Sounds like a good philosophy to me Aferg......I put in an e-mail about the possibility of a T-72. Still waiting for a response.

Post by digger » Wed Oct 26, 2005 6:52 am

Some of the older PTE is on sale at KB. Some of it is worth it just for the weapons and gear:

Indeed I may need to put an order in for some of the pieces i need... It's good even for Sci-Fi/Star Wars scenes I've found. It's just good quality stuff, but the gear I can live without.

I'm missing those Eversparkle playsets. I wish I could find more of those. :(

BTW does anyone have the Abrams? Can they give some specifics on it like treads and all that jazz?

I've considered using it for some non-military customs and was wondering what kind of quality it is.

PTE search

Post by Clutch » Thu Oct 27, 2005 7:11 am

I am still looking for the PTE covered humvee. I saw one once at KB and did not pick it up and now I am kicking myself because I can't find one now.

Hey Curt how about an F-14 man? I loved PTE's F-18, be sure to tell them that! And I love the blackhawk as well! I have been itching for them to make an F-14, so far out of the "joescale" companies, I think their vehicles are the best!

More jets and helicopters is a good thing!
Shin's wishlist for 1/18 and 1/32 with retractable landing gear and more:

F-14 Tomcat, F-8 Crusader, A-4 Skyhawk, F-105 Thunderchief, A-6 Intruder, F-15C, F-15E Strike Eagle

Well I'll be a monkey's uncle... Thanks Dig! :) Pricey but that's the first I've seen of the sets in ages. Doesn't look the same either... I thought I'd checked KB.com at one point or another and didn't get anything so I'm surprised at that. Maybe I spelled it wrong or something in my search.

Just bought another PTE Howitzer. I'm going to make a US 8 inch (203mm) howitzer out of this one. Should be easier than making it into a Long Tom, as i did my first one.

My first PTE howitzer i made into a limbered marine version of the Long Tom, being towed by a bulldozer....this one i'm going to put in a firing position. These 8 inch howitzers were pretty cool guns, used in the Pacific, Italy, Korea and even Vietnam. I'd be tempted to make it a Korean war version if i could find some pics...many of the crews in korea put names on their guns but i can't find any reference pics, so i'll probably settle for a gun used in Italy.

:)

Has anyone actually purchased something from http://www.powerteamhq.com/ ? I made a purchase on Wednesday morning and have heard nothing about it.....not even an order confirmation.

Are they ok to deal with?
