Speaking of crashing ... as usual, when I clicked on the links for the video of this plane, I subsequently spent way too much time watching videos of amazing scale RC birds and, inevitably started watching crash videos ... which made me wonder why someone hasn't come up with a panic button/D-Ring device for these kinds of birds.

I can imagine a small explosively-ejected chute module, mounted to fire upward out of the fuse. Cover it with a scale hatch. Mount an "arm" switch somewhere in or on the plane. Cover the button for that channel on the transmitter with a hinged guard to avoid accidental deployment. I'd say half the terrible RC crash videos I've seen could be made at least much less terrible with something like that ...
