Yes Jnewboy you MUST give me all of those King Tigers or your hoarding will get out of hand and drive you insane. If you want to keep your right of mind and not have a house full of junk, do the right thing and send those pieces of junk this way!

Aferguson, the answer is contained in your own words -

"it is nearly impossible to evict a hoarder, so if they don't cooperate there isn't much that can be done about it. Hoarders are considered to be mentally disturbed and as such are one of the protected groups of people."

Keep storing XD on your balcony. Just declare yourself mentally disturbed, and thereofre part of a protected class, and the authorities will have to stay hands-off!

But as cavepeople, it would have been in our best interests to hoard things during times of plenty, to be used during times of need.

We are cavepeople, we have mancaves, the times of plenty were the Walmart days, the times of need are now.

You know your evolution well, even recent evolution.

I am letting one of mine go in a trade and am heavily thinking of putting the another up on e-bay. My tally of FOV 1/16 tigers were:

1x Mint in box green Tiger II
1x Grey Tiger II mint in box
1x Grey Tiger !! out of box
1x original Tiger I out of box.

Now if I sell the 2 mint in box I will be left with only 2 of them

From a hoarder's point of view getting rid of stash sucks.
Kirk Douglas : Mine hit the ground first
John Wayne : Mine was taller

I believe there is a difference in hoarding and collecting, a attic full of unopened boxes is a lot different than trash piled through out your home, I guess I would fill the bill as a hoarder in some terms, I have a pole barn/workshop that I keep most everything in, I have parts for Holley carbs that are over twenty years old in the box, rods and pistons from various engines over the years that I bought for projects that got side lined, engines on stands that need to be rebuilt, but no trash.

I guess as they say one man's trash, anothers treasure

yeah the thing with hoarding is that what looks like trash to most, is not trash at all to the hoarder. So that's why it's been defined in terms of interfering with life style, rooms not usable for their intended purpose etc, rather than based on value.

The most extreme cases of hoarding are the ones that stand out, like the mumified animals and rotting food, mountains of refuse and paper etc. It's based more on quantity of stuff, given the living space available.

And like everything else it's a question of degrees. People who collect hundreds of model cars are still hoarders of a sort, but just a very low level type. Same can be said with women who are shoe hoarders or have more clothes then they could wear in their lifetime. In fact 75% of hoarders are female....and that again probably stems back to the cave days where hoarding was not only beneficial but life saving.

My guy is definately a hoarder, not a collector. When you see you have bought a box of brandy new size 14W Army boots, all left foots and no rights...... and you feel they will be valuable someday....you have a problem.

He's a nice guy, but he has a problem. Anybody need a rather large left Army boot? How about 400 foot of very nasty, rusty big ship anchor chain? Or a huge box of rusty mufflers with no indication as to what vehicle they fit on?

Trust me. Nobody is dragging that anchor chain. Not just anchor chain but BIG ship chain. The guy brought it home in sections and used a D7 dozer to drag it off his tank trailer. :?

Priceless.
