Would anyone be interested in 1/18 Buildings? PT2
SO what would everyone be the most interested in. I need something to start with. See the poll.

I prefer the single wall and the corner bombed building, but i think you should start (first) with what most people want. ![Wink ](./images/smilies/icon_wink.gif)

i was thinking of the larger beach area fortifications, or at least portions thereof...in a similar way to doing a portion of a building for a diorama.
There is ample reference material here:

you can search inside the book online to see what i mean.
Tobruks would be a cool thing to make too..

Would people like full size D-day beachhead bunkers? Smaller, slightly more inland bunkers like Tobruk bunkers? Big bunker complexes/cannon direction bunkers?
I think I might start off making Tobruk/ringstand bunkers.

Also, where can I get some magnets that RCers use to secure hatches. I was planning on making removable top.

how are you going to secure the magnets..are you planning on putting metal in the structure?
A good source of magnets i've used is from the dollar store. I buy 'blinkies' , those annoying flashing lapel pins that ravers wear to parties. They have super duper strong magnets for attaching the blinkie to clothing. These things are unreal. They are tiny, tiny but have the strength of an auto wrecker magnet.
Not sure of other sources for those strong little magnets...somebody here might know.

Nah. Just magnet on magnet in the foam.

make sure you line the poles up right....heh.
Personally, i'm most interested in the machine gun/observation type bunkers, like in the beach scene of SPR. Next would be the gun bunkers with the stepped facings (a pak 40 would look cool in one of thiose) and then lastly the tobruks, only because they are difficult to do anything with since most of them are below ground.

Yea. I have seen a number of above/partially above ground tobroks.
Looks like I will be starting the bunkers soon. Have to get some stuff finished up first.
I could make some 88mm emplacements also.

How about making a bundle of brick walls and corners, then allow the recipient to position them the way they want to suit any occasion!

Good 1/18 or 1/16 rubble is lacking in the world, there is build-a-rama but its way overpriced.
