Misc 18th comment from my basement

Post by mikeg » Sun May 22, 2011 6:54 pm

I had all my 18th 21st and BBi tanks repackaged and taped up to ignore or sell at some point; I realized how silly that was and have unpacked them and put on display again. Need I say more-

Are you gonna rotate through your display items?

In theory that was my intent, though there are some solid favorites and then some others that are simply pains to repack (like the Stuka).

Luckily, I have not had to rotate my items; I simply rearrange when I get new/used items.
I thought I wanted to concentrate on my 32nd and 18th AC stuff- selling the US and German halftracks, trucks, pak 40s, etc., -- and the tanks at some point, but selling the tanks is beyond the pale.

I used to be open to the idea of shipping/receiving stukas by removing the wings, but after receiving the last one ( the wings fitting just a tad looser than they would if not removed at least once), I prefer to ship/receive with just the wheels removed in a nice square box when needed.

Tell me about it!

I originally passed on the snake stuka and it took me a few years to find a bargin price on one. Got it, but the tabs on the wings were broken when it was disassembled at some point. I've debated buying a thin wood or metal plate and cutting a grove in the plastic to give the wing better integrity.

The best part about the Stukas are there wings ... saggy winged Stukas just don't have the same morale crush on Cobra troopers as that a stiff winged Stuka does. ;)

On the other side, my Flak 36/37 88mm and Pak 40 are some of my favorite pieces ... that and the US Quad gun.
