WIP STUG III

Post by steelbonnet » Sat Oct 08, 2005 12:46 pm

I`m after some Armour for my 1/18th German Kampfgruppen I`m building up.

Right then here`s my custom WIP 1/18th STUG III.

I`ve used the base of a Lanard Tank.As it has the 6 road wheels. I need to slightly extend it`s width & also raise body also.

I`ll be reworking the rear & front wheels though the sides will be hiden behind SHIELDs when i get round to them.

The Upper Hull/superstructre is 100% custom built in Strong card.

Well here you go My WIPs.

Well please LMK what you think so far or it.

I know it`s not going to be 100% accurate the main thing is once it`s done is that it looks like a STUG,that`s all that matters.

Looks great! Why not create a vehicle based on a MK IV chassis?? It's available and easily modded....

Hi Ski,

I wish the MKIV was readily available to me over here without costing a fortune.

It would make thinks more interesting I must admit to do it that way.

I`m going on the assumption of "I`ll be lucky if i get 1 or 2 MK IVs".Due to there shipping costs & in Europe there just shy of 100 Euros (£90ish = $170-180). Now call me stupid BUT i think that`s too much, don`t you?

I`m doing the hull sperate at present so who knows if i`m really lucky, though as a MK IV fan IF i`m lucky to get any i`d like tohave at least 3 MK IVs as is.

I agree. When I was talking to Dirk at the Toy Fair, me mentioned the fact that import tariffs just crank the prices up to unreasonable levels. However, I'm sure you have seen the Corgi Xd over there for pretty damn reasonable prices. I'm surprised that you can't find XD vehicles in the same price range. I bet the fact that Corgi didn't import them is part of the problem. If you want, I can hook you up with a MKIV or two if I see them here. Just let me know. I will have to wait till they get restocked at WM.......

Ski thank`s very much for the kind offer mate, truely appreciated.

I`ve had a few offers via pm.So i`ll see how they pan out & if any probs well i`ll pm you mate.

Again thank`s for the kind words on the Stug so far & the very kind offer too.

As for Corgi XD,I`m surprised as hell they haven`t brought into the UK the MK IV standard & Euro versions,as I think they`d sell very well in the UK.
