1/18 NAVY PILOT Figure

Post by sax5thave » Sun Feb 13, 2011 8:15 pm

Hi,

Wanna test the water here.. Would anyone be interested in a pair of 1/18 pilot figures for their F14? I plan to have the BBI F18 pilot copied with moving head L/R, movable arms and legs. Articulation is not as good as the original but detail will be spot on. I am currently in the Philippines and as you may well not be aware, labor is reasonable and craftsmanship is excellent. Material will be resin if not the rubbery type. Price will be pegged at $25-30 a pair plus shipping. Waayyy cheaper if someone will pay bulk ( dozen pairs ) and he can have the US market. Otherwise, I will make it available on ebay shipped from my home in MN. Will post photos once I finalize the project. I can also have sidewinder and sparrows missiles made for less and other small stuff if someone is willing to order bulk. Maybe even a flight deck crew set? Courier will be EMS.

Thanks,

Anthony Isip

I would be interested in a set or two. Would they be painted?

I'm interested, too---if they're already painted.

If I understand you correctly - you could ship from Minnesota - if that is the case I'm in for a pair at your stated price. If I have to pay for shipping from Philipines, I'm out.

Yes they will be painted. I think it would be best if I send all the pilots to my folks in Minnesota so you pay local postage flat rate of $5+ using those small flat rate boxes from USPS. I am thinking of several color varieties on the helmet. Some older HGU-33P others the newer HGU-68P TAC-Air. Will post the figures soon enough. I will come out with 40 pairs for now and sell some on ebay.

SAX5THAVE:

This sounds promising. Do you know when you will have the figures available?.....The JSI "Black Knights" F-14 (circa 1998 and needing pilots using the HGU-68 helmets) will be released in March.

I'm meeting the guy who will make it this weekend. And from there he will make the molds for me. I'd say within a month I'll have it. I'll be copying the body and head of the BBI F18 pilot and head of the starfighter pilot.

I'm in for a flight deck crew, my own custom in not so good and I still want to make a 1/18 diorama at sea with my f-18!!!
Have a small collection of pic's from goggle showing the variety of colours of these flight deck crewmen.
