I'd like to share with all of you the 1/16th scale RC Hetzer tank, which I 95% scratch built over the last year. I started with a Cromwell hull top, modified it by cutting away a hugh amount and hollowing it out. The rest of the work involved making RTV molds, both normal strength and high temp, casting in high temp metal (pewter) and in extra strength resin, crafting the vast majority of details out of brass (soldering), and installing Tamiya's full option system.
The mold alone for the hull took 3 pounds of RTV ($100 worth) and weighs about 20 lbs. Hetzer tracks were made out of 1/25th plastic Panther tracks, with all new metal pins drilled and inserted (there being no 1/16th type tracks available with double rows of teeth). If there is further interest I could describe the construction detals, as many assembly pictures were taken along the way.
In my 10+ years of RC tanking, this project was the most challenging and resulted in the most satisfaction. it was enormous effort and I doubt that I would do something like this again....and perhaps won't have too with so many new products being offered in 1/16th.
Enjoy ! PP

You did a great job. I like your idea on the tracks.
I was going to make this way back when in 1/18 scale but the T-34 won out.
You have some great skills

Its great, awsome! I saw a 1/16 kit awhile back for a hetzer.... dont remember where, maybe Juwa or Juckenburg made one. Good job on it, I bet it took some time!

Panzer Paul,
That is a fantastic looking model, you've really done a great job on this Hertzer.
I'd be very interested in seeing your construction details.
