The next 1/16 FOV Extreme metal

Post by Yoxford » Sat Jan 01, 2011 7:15 am

Well its not a Panther or the Panzer IV...yet
it is...Sd. Kfz. 181 PzKpfw VI Tiger I Ausf. E Heavy Tank - sPzAbt. 505, Poland, 1944
http://www.themotorpool.net/German-Tige ... i85104.htm
(Wonder if it will come with a horse and rider as in the famous picture)

Are they kidding with that retail price?!? I can see that price on the secondary market after a couple years after the original release but straight from retail????? Someone needs to put down the pipe!

Id rather wait till someone comes out with a nice model of the tiger than buy this. Generally they are between 3 and 4 hundred and I get the enjoyment of building it myself.

Does that mean a $600 repaint of the King Tiger is next?

What happened the to 1/16 Panzer and Panther?

I thought they were all set for the Panzer IV, this is a real let down and quite frankly wreaks of desperation. :? Passion Wagon?

Didn't the original King tiger retail for only $350? I wish I bought one then. It's ludicrous that they now charge $600 for a repaint.

That costs $100 more than the Dragon 1/6 Pz II. Absurd.

Two years ago, Flyingmule sold out of its 'late arrival' batch of 1/16 Peiper King Tigers at $699.

The King Tigers are far more scarce.

I think FOV made a mistake with this third Tiger. I myself have been in it since the original King Tiger came out 5 or 6 years ago and I honestly don't want a third after the two Wittman. You can still find those two for around $500 -550 or so up on ebay and they are not selling. Pretty much anyone that wants one has one. What they should have done is something new and of course German. Panzer 4 or Panther but a larger run like 3500-4500 World wide. I would have bought two!

Well….Like Zartan I have been collecting each Extreme Metal 1/16 version, from the first King Tiger through the Sherman (which is a great model) and I do like the history of the 505th and the paint job on this cat looks like a winner, AND I really like Tiger I’s…so I will get one… but not at that price. It must come down in price. As for the future of the Panzer IV…this may just be a stop gap/ fill in, to buy time…before the Panzer IV is released for 2012?…and the mention of a Panther from a factory Rep. may have been him or her confusing Panther for Panzer or Tiger for Panther (big cats all look alike) …Seems like all things from China are a bit fuzzy these days…

hlj seems to think it may show up in Feb...
