WC57 Command Car figures

Post by pokeyjtc » Wed Sep 14, 2005 6:12 pm

I bought a Comand Car a few weeks ago and it came with a BOB driver and BOB Patton figure. I was at WM last night and found another Command Car but this one had two 82nd Airborne figures instead. Anybody else seeing this? I remember someone mentioning that the Hummer came with two different sets of figures also. Just wondering how many of the vehicles come with different figure sets?

I've only seen the humvee do this so far, and most of what I see now has the SF/CIA set. All the command cars I've seen have standard two figures you mentioned. Maybe one of them will show up with a Series 1 German officer

I saw the WC-57 at a Wal Mart a few days ago - it had the two 82nd Air Borne figures. Kind of nice if you want to build up your paratrooper forces.

I posted in the WM thread I found an M41 with a Vietnamese figure. It's this type of variety that will keep us coming back into the store. I am tired of always seeing the same pieces I already own on the shelves.

The pieces aren't much different from what's already been sold - in some cases simply not having quite as detailed of a paint job. Still, its cool that 21c is including the different figures with these re-releases. Here's a comparison of the figures we've recieved thus far with the vehicles sold at Wal Mart (WM), and those that were sold elsewhere:

Woodland Cammo M3 Bradley:
Viet Nam Tanker Figure

WM Desert Cammo Bradley:
Modern Tanker figure

Origional Olive Drab M-41:
WWII Tanker Figure

WM Olive Drab M-41:
South Vietnamese Soldier

TRU Olive Drab US Halftrack:
WWII US Infantry figure

WM Olive Drab US Halftrack:
WWII 101AB Paratrooper figure

German Hannomag:
German Infantry Figure

WM German Hannomag:
German Falschrimjager Figure

Origional COED Sherman:
WWII Tanker Figure

WM COED Sherman:
WWII USMC "Dizzy Hagenshire" Figure

WC-57 Command Car:
Patton, Driver, and dog figures

WM Command Car:
two WWII 82nd AB paratrooper figures

Desert Hummer:
Two special ops figures

WM Desert Hummer:
Two Eastern warrior figures

There were other tanks seen at both at Wal Mart and small retailers (the Panzer IV and Tiger come to mind) but these have varying numbers of the same figures.

Anything I left out?

That list looks pretty good, Tman. I just wanted to clarify that I bought both of my Command Cars at WM and got the Airborne figs with one and the Patton, dog, and driver with the other. I bought them about a month apart. I also bought the both of my Hanomag halftracks at WM, one the green-yellow color, the other green-gray, and the yellow had the German infantry and the gray has the Falschrimjager Figure.

You are correct - the WC-57 with Patton and the Tan Hannomag with the infantry figure were at Wal Mart, along with the Winter US Halftrack and Winter Bulldog. Those exact vehicles also went to the small retailers, before hand. I never saw them in may AO, and left them off the list partly out of some confusion as to what all has gone to Wal Marts and what hasn't (since their distribution varies from store to store, region to region  )

Yes, due to WM's spotty distribution, it does make it difficult to keep track of what has gone to WM and what hasn't. Do you know when the 82nd Airborne figs were originally released and how many different guys were available? I didn't start collecting the figures until this year so I am kind of fuzzy on what was released earlier and when.

The Airborne was in tru three years ago with 3 82d & 3 101st - 6 total. At the same time were 6 Fallschirmjagers.
