Got lucky this morning - Bf-109 G Rall

Post by ExC17load » Tue Sep 21, 2010 8:21 am

Logged onto my computer this morning and found that I got a verified second chance offer on the "Rall" Bf-109 that I had lost bidding on. The price got way to rich for my blood and stopped at what I could afford. Lo and behold, the guy had extras and gave me a chance to buy it at my top price of $125, so it was a good morning since I was able to complete that collection.

Im not one to brag, just wanted to share the good news that sometimes good things do happen on eBay.

Congrats! The Rall 109-G is my favorite! It's getting more and more rare as time goes on.

I appreciate it! Yes, it seems to be quite rare these days, as are most of the German planes.

Given the rarity of the plane (it never was at mass retail), I'd say you got quite the deal. Really, you only paid double the original cost of the plane and about the going rate for many XD planes these days.

I was lucky to pick one up at my local Hobbytown USA store back in 2006. The plane was already getting harder to find even then. I had passed when the plane was first available with the online retailers (already having a couple XD Bf-109Gs), but was instantly "smitten" by the look of the plane and got it.

It is certainly the prettiest of the XD Bf-109Gs, the most historically significant, and it has the best box art

That is a good deal ExC17load. :D

It is also my favourite 21C Me109. Germany's third highest ace, with the best looking scheme, and the best box art of them all. Plus, it seems to be a "special edition".

I was lucky enough to get two of these a couple of years ago, in absolutely mint shape. I have left both of them MIB, as they are a unique 1/18 Me109.

Congrats on completing the Me109 collection. :D Just missing a couple myself.

I just had the same experience on the same day with a Galland. 2nd chance offer. 135.00 I'm betting it was the same seller and the same bidder that didn't pay.

Just realized you said your seller had an extra. My seller said winner didn't pay. Maybe not same seller. My bad.
