FOV Sherman

Post by Threetoughtrucks » Sat Jul 10, 2010 11:10 am

Does the FOV 1/16 Sherman have a detailed interior like the Tigers?

I'm looking at pics and it looks like something is visible through the hatches but no mention of the interior except the visible engine.

Prices around $400 look good but not as good as the Tigers with their "knock your socks off" interiors.

I still kick myself when I think that I passed on the FOV 1/16 Tiger when it came out.

* Yes it does but only what you can see through the hatches. The turret is not removable. + PM sent.

the turret can easily be made to be removable ;)

there's just an extra ring with no detail screwed onto the turret, remove it and the turret lifts off with all the detail to be seen (I did this to my tiger 1)

you can even go further and leave the screws out of the bottom, and you have a lift off hull too ;)

But does the detail of the interior extend from what you can see through the hatches to the rest of the interior you cannot see through the hatches?

I can't believe FOV would make a complete interior and then make it had to access.

Any pics?

Yes, FOV DID add all that interior detail and then sealed the turret shut...go figure...the side turret port opens as do all the hatches.

I have both FOV Tiger 1's and the Sherman has just as much if not more interior detail than than the Tiger 1....radio, shells, gun basket, turret.30 cal & hull .30 cal MG, even the driver levers and pedals... just open the hatch and shine a flashlight in...plus the figures are outstanding.

And unlike the plastic hull of the Tiger, the ENTIRE Sherman is diecast... Hull, turret, and tracks... Well worth the investment.
The sign of a great model is that one’s eye is not drawn to any one feature, yet one can study it for hours and continually find something new.

that sherman isn't mine, a member on RCU took the guts out to make it into the nicest RC sherman around. (he saved the guts and make a display piece though)
