Just bought this Dumas 1/20 PT on Ebay. Reapaint, some work and she'll be a sweatheart. :D :D :D

Nice going Aferguson! I think that will work with a few 1:18th scale guys on it.

May have cost an arm and a leg, but thats a darn nice boat! Though the scale is just a tad off, the 1:18 figures will work perfectly! I guess you could get ahold of some of the Marines and repaint them to look more like sailors (wearing their combat helmet, of course) to crew the boat. Nonetheless, awesome find!

Aferg,
I got a USS Monitor someone scratch built from Ebay. It's got some of the electrics and motor installed. I want to fix it up with a rotating turret and firing guns - of course a back burner project.

I have some radio equipment that would work in a boat like you have. If you are interested in running it in the water...

Not a bad price for a Dumas boat. Hope you have a pool or pond to run that in - ships need water (coming from someone with several boats in dry dock)

Yea, it looks great but do you have a little JFK at the wheel, no shirt on with his hat raked to one side. PT 109 is a great boat.

PT's are a favorite with me, especially near the end of WW2 when they started to load them up with guns (20mm, 30mm and 40mm), mortars beside the standard twin 50 cals and the basic 20mm. Turning them into gunboats to fight the Nippon barge Navy.

It looks great, have fun with it. :D

Congrads on the boat, Andrew!

hehehehehehehehehehe..... I bought an old wood 1/97 scale Fletcher Class destroyer years ago for $70 ( a steal to me) and besides sanding it down, I haven't really touched it. It will cost me about $160 to get all of the fittings and guns for it. I'm not much of a modeler and I'm worried about screwing it all up..... :( It's attached to a piece of navy crate with some stenciling on it. One of these days......
