I think the price is insane, a friend of mine emailed them and they stated the opening bid was like less than half of what their reserve was. My opinion something like this is worth no more than $2k and that's to a hard core collector. I hate reserves and for that reason alone I'm not interested and I eat, sleep, and drink Japanese aircraft. Also to open up yet another user acct to peddle the thing with, with zero feedback, no reputation..probably not the best idea. If I for instance didn't know it was 21st people selling this thing I wouldn't bid just coz of the new user 0 fb part of it. Should've used "chadburdock" as they've done in the past. Still though, I bet it sells. I get the feeling this thing may be an east coast resident in a weeks time.
If it does get bought it'll set the record of records for a single XD purchase. $4k plus....geez.

Thanks, for some reason, I thought it was different.grunt1 wrote:http://www.sshqdb.com/18/index.php?cat=91
I concur with the above remarks, don't waste peoples time with reserves.. If you want a dollar amount out of it, put down the numbers and let it ride..

Wow, you know the guy that put that initial bid in was probably irate when this guy dumped the action and doubled the price. Now if it was the only 1:18th scale Zero around it might get more interest but 4 grand for a chunk of plastic that’s not a museum piece is asking a bit much. You know though, there’s one born every day so maybe he’ll get it. This might be just what Tom Cruise needs to complete is collection.

For $4,000 bucks that thing better be hand delivered like a Publisher's Clearinghouse check, complete with tv cameras.
What happens when the prop snaps or landing gear breaks during shipping? I don't think there's an original box, so I believe the plane has a better chance of being damaged during shipping.
Maybe the seller will again end the auction early and increase the price to $6,000!

I've noticed a few auctions getting relisted at a higher price or even revised to a higher price before auction end.DropTank wrote:Why would you relist this again at $4,000.00 when it did not garner much interest at $2,000.00 ????
Seriously, what's the logic there? Are they hoping my mother-in-law, who believes more expensive means better quality, is going to bid on it?
I was watching a PC cpu last week, and the day before the auction ended - with no bids yet - the seller raised it from $99 to $119 and raised shipping from $5.99 to $7.99. I called him on it and he revised it back down (except shipping).
Retarded (no offense to any retarded board members).

I am a big 1/18 collector but I refuse to spend money on poor quality items. I bet ANYTHING the quality of this zero is nowhere near the quality of the BBI zero-none of 21st's stuff was as good a quality as BBI's. The only one that came close was the later P-51's. The BBI Corsair and 109 were FAR better than 21st's. Spending thousands for something that is lower quality than what is already out there is just silly. It is not a matter of having the money to spend on it or not-stupid spending is stupid spending.
