Aferg. Not sure if this has been suggested yet, but how about a coffee table dio. If you where doing a Pacific theme you could have the small scale "waterline" ships on the bottom, then some 1/72 planes midheight, 1/48 planes near the top. Then just have like a glass top so you can view down into it (Could even paint clouds on the underside of the glass top).
